hello
are there any custom roms for the gamepad 2 from archos.
or are other roms from here compatible with this device.
because the stockrom is full of s..t. and sometimes the tablet shut down while you play .
and is there a working cwm recovery for this device also .
thx
Sorry, Snakey...I don't think we've done a ROM for that tab.
Great to hear from you, buddy!!!!!
It's an RK3188...so it shouldn't be too hard to cook up a ROM....if you can find the firmware or dump it.

OK, the Archos site offers two different firmware versions. There is the original factory firmware update.img file and an update.zip file as posted by Snakekiller above.
Right now, I'm making a base ROM for testing based on the original factory firmware. This will be the baseline as I integrate the files from the update.zip into the ROM. I wish there was an easy tool that would import the files for me, but there isn't....so it might take a while.
So there will be a v1.0 and soon after a v1.1.

From what I understand by reading the parameter file is that they have combined the internal SD and the app space....so no need in providing alternate parameter files.
I can make a boot.img that will swap internal and external SD...if you guys see that as a benefit. However, since app space and data are combined with the external SD...you must have one in place on first boot so it will be formatted accordingly by stock recovery. Just something to consider and maybe try. The up side would be the ability to increase to up to 32gb the size of the psudo internal SD space.

One thing I forgot to do was to change the bootloader.bin file at the top of the list to the one in the RileyROM folder. You don't need to flash it, anyway...so just leave it unchecked. If you need to flash it, just remember to browse to the correct file. I will have that fixed in v1.1.

This is a total experiment...since I've created the system.img from the update.zip file provided from Archos. I tried getting all of the permissions set appropriately...so I hope it works.
If it doesn't..........first try flashing the entire v1.1 ROM with the v1.0 system.img I think the only difference is that Archos updated the Google Apps to newer versions.
I also created a new recovery.img from the update.zip...so if that doesn't work, just flash the recovery.img from v1.0.
I attempted to use my own bootanimation.zip...but it appears that Archos uses a different file format for their boot animations.
Stay tuned for the v1.1 link as soon as it finishes uploading.

Well, once I get on a roll...things seem to materialize rather quickly.
Again, I can't say for sure that this v1.1 will work. Like I said, if it doesn't....at least try flashing the v1.1 kernel with the v1.0 ROM...that should fix the choppiness in the video on some games.
