    imito QX1 OC kernel

Well now I got it BT is working too in the new kernels, so we have a fully functional kernel for our QX1 sticks.

Thanks a lot to sam321 who give us the code to OC our sticks, Thanks a lot to phjanderson who gives us a fix for frame skipping issue, Thanks to all people who is working for give us advances.

I added some new governors and io schedulers, but for me, the best result are gotten with ondemand governor and noop io scheduler. So I put them by default, Use those kernels under your own responsability.
I tested those kernels and they work fully functionals now for me. BT problem solved after so much time, in ours iMito QX1 we have a special device and stock sources need to be modded a bit.
Of course, and cause they are OC kernels, the stick can heat a bit more (I cant notice it, I feel the stick cooler than with the stock kernel) so additional heat dissipation can be a good idea. This kernel are stable for me to use daily:
    kernel 1080p with OC CPU:1800 RAM:1440:http://cloud.freak-tab.de/public.php...db973745ca7a61
    kernel 720p with OC CPU:1800 RAM:1440:http://cloud.freak-tab.de/public.php...82d41109a55947
    kernel 1080p without OC CPU:1608 RAM:720:http://cloud.freak-tab.de/public.php...505342a8dde665
    kernel 720p without OC CPU:1608 RAM:720:http://cloud.freak-tab.de/public.php...7febaf49bacbbe

Remember(I forgot it :P ) that stock rom has in his boot.img a kernel embedded, so to test this kernel you must have a boot.img without one inside it, so here are the boots imgs of the last official rom from geekbuying, you need to flash them to test the custom kernel:

    boot-1080.img:http://cloud.freak-tab.de/public.php...1b8b457aeae8fc
    boot-720.img:http://cloud.freak-tab.de/public.php...80b33aaaa66abc

To install the kernel choose the boot.img and kernel.img

From windows you can use: http://cloud.freak-tab.de/public.php...6475df68569aa9
From linux you can use: http://cloud.freak-tab.de/public.php...76524c4c403edb Thanks to linuxerwang(https://github.com/linuxerwang/rkflashkit)

Kernel source used and .config files at : https://github.com/leolas/ANDROID-KERNEL-QX1 I used the new kernel sources released from ricomagic thanks to Andykirby in http://www.rikomagic.co.uk/forum/vie...dcae13e72e2a6a and uploaded to linuxium github in:https://github.com/linuxium/3188-SRC-AP6210. So I created a new github repository.

The kernels have config.gz enabled, so you will have a config.gz file in your /proc folder in your stick with the .config file inside. tun.ko module is inserted in kernel so you dont need to insmod it.

I recommend 1080p OC kernel, it works for me really great and smooth.

Of course and like always all fix and suggestions you can give me are welcome.

For example with the rom flash tool include in bob or neomode roms, if you use windows, and from linux with this:http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...8574#post78574. Select only the kernel for flash.

          Ok, thanks

I did try the flash tool from finless, bit it cant find the qx1 in flash mode, only when fully booted.
Rk flash tool can find in both modes, but cant flash kernel only.
So i thougt finless flash tool wasnt fully compatible with qx1 yet.

Is it possible to flash with cwm update zip?

Will wait and try with linux gui

Use reboot apk from petrus search to it in this forum to put the imito in bootloader mode. It works really well. http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...=petrus+reboot

Both finless flash tool and RK flash tool can reboot my QX1 to bootloader mode, but only RK flash tool will recognize it in bootloader mode, not, finless flash tool.
That is why I thought flash tool from finless was not fully compatible with QX1...

Mine was recognized in bootloader node.with the flash tool inside t428 1.5 bob rom.

                  Ok, will try that later.
I have been using the 1.35 flash tool that came with finless rom 2.0 for my MX1.

                  Thank you for replying

                  Update:
Thanks, the 1.37 flash tool from 1.5 tronsmart works very well.
And btw, the bluetooth is crap on the orginal kernel/firmware, so no loss there. Will rather have a working one, so keep up the good work.

Take care about not use perforance governor that will have the cpu running all time at max speed and all must be ok.

How can i verify that the new kernel is flashed correctly?

Kernel version remains the same. Does your kernel still have the same name?

I cant se any config.gz file in my /proc folder.

There are no new gouvenors, and clock speed is still max 1608MHz.

Flash tool says that it all flashed OK. (Attatched log)

Ok, I forgot to mention, the stock rom has the kernel embedded in boot.img, you need a boot.img without kernel. I will upload a boot.img without kernel latter.

                        leolas

PS: I updated the first post and add the last official 4.2 firmware boot.img without the kernel inserted.

                          The kernel works great
which gouvenor is recommended? i am using SmartassV2 now.
For me, the greatest improvement was when using XBMC, and beeing clocked to 1,8GHz, my QX1 does not get any hotter than the stock one
                          I'm using the 720 boot/kernel on stock rooted "V422_130607"

what is done to this kernel? what more can we expext to see in future?

Basically this kernel is like the stock one with sam321 coded added to allow OC the stick, some new governors and IO schedulers are added from omegamoon github. Now the blue led turns off when the device is powered off.

I feel the same about hot, I use 1,8 max in interactive governor, and I didn't feel the stick hotter than with the stock kernel.

I am working to make BT work too, but no success for now. And trying to solve the restart problem with the QX1, when you reboot or restart you lost wifi and need to power off the device completely to make wifi works again.

I am expecting for some fix or improvements in other githubs for they can be applied too to the QX1 users.

So far, the kernel works really well
Cant say i have run into any problems or having heat issues

And for the bluetooth... Is it only the internal BT that is the problem? or is it possible to get a BT dongle driver implemented and get external BT to work?

I have a Measy RC16, and with stock kernel, it does not work properly with the internal BT, so maybe correct drivers for it will do the trick?
The RC16 came with a RC11 BT dongle, but my QX1 does not recognize it "out of the box"
