    UPDATE - MK908 Kernel with Frameskip Fix - 720p & 1080p Download

Here you go, use it if you want to. Config.gz support is enabled so you can grab the .config and use it with whatever source you like. Thanks to the Freaktab team!

8-29-13 - My brand new mk908 kernel release! Here are kernels for both versions of the mk908. These are the same kernels included with my mk908-jjhmod-v2.2 universal rom. I have added support for tons of hardware, including most applicable touchscreens. I have ideally got bluetooth working half decent, depending of course on the rom. I recommend to try these out. Also I should say that these kernels have sam321's video fix rather than phjanderson's. I'm pretty pleased with it. The V3 has limitations currently with the sources we have as far as cpu speed goes. I have the V3 kernel running at 1366 max as that is as high as it will go and remain stable.

    So...

MK908-jjhkernel-HW_V1-v5.1 - Download Link (for the V1 stick...)

    and...

MK908-jjhkernel-HW_V3-v5.1 - Download Link (for the V3 stick...)

As always I appreciate feedback! Thanks and Enjoy!

Thanks a lot for all of you guys!

I want to know if I can use this kernel in all of rom? The stock ones? Or custom ones?

      Power management info

If anyone has any information on the proper kernel settings for power management on the mk908 I´d love to know. I think I have that setup improperly. Thanks!

Yes you can use it wherever you want. I have only tested it with Finless roms so far. I recommend testing thoroughly to make sure the unit doesn´t get too hot. I would not like your customers to have broken equipment because I am not an expert. I´m not sure all settings are right as far as cpu/gpu power and scaling. I would appreciate any help anyone has to offer on that.

Edit: I think I´m happier with it heat-wise now. I also wanted to mention that I have not tried it with any stock roms as of yet, but might. Honestly for my uses, Finless 1.4 for mk908 is the rom I prefer. I will have to do some messing around with 4.2.2 roms though.

And to use this kernels you must use them in a custom rom with kernel outside boot.img

Updated kernel with a few tweaks.

Here´s the link to my most recent kernels. Both 720 and 1080. Also I updated the first post to link to these as well, just wanted to make sure people knew I updated it.

Yes for sure. Leolas knows. Is it possible to inject a kernel.img back into a boot.img?

You guys rock the house. I'm going to test your latest 720p with my cx 919.

Curious is libstagefreight xbmc working with these?

I haven´t tried it yet to be honest, but I am using a finless rom as the base so I would imagine all the necessary stuff is there. My guess is that it will work - I hope it works out that way.

No dice on the cx919. Won't boot. Tried with finless 4.1 and 4.2. Also tried with strauzo nexus.

Back to strauzo nexus v1 and his mk908 rom for now.

Yes you can you can use the linux binary mkbootimg to get it, if you want when I teturn home I can give you the link to it, but for rom mod purpose and for update kernel easy is better to get the kernel out of the boot.img and let it alone in the kernel partition.

Then you want to take a boot.img with kernel inside and put off the ketnel or insert a kernel inside a clean boot.img?

                            How to change Kernel?

                            Rom Flash Tool 137
When changing kernel, is it necessary to press "erase NAND" and then "flash ROM" or is it enough just to press only "flash ROM"?

you only want to flash it. erasing nand means you'll have to re-flash everything (rom and kernel)
