Re: MK908 Kernel upgrade to 3.0.72+

Anyone notice that graphics performance drops a lot using this sources? I usedepic citadel to compare, the same Mali.ko; almost the same config, and I got in my old sources 62,3 vs 32,4 with this sources(both kernels at 1080p cpu 1800 ddr 720 gpu 768, I am trying to compare them with my old sources, but I am real bad with code, maybe I made some mistake in my modifications. I need to study it deeper.

Haven't tried yet. I've tested with Ubuntu this time, not Android, and used an ethernet dongle for internet connectivity. Need some more time to get wifi+bt working

Kernel 3.0.72+ for devices similiar to cloudnetgo cr9 with rtl8188eu wifi

              Hey guys,
the last days i spent my time with trying to build the 3.0.72+ kernel (thanks omegamoon) for my CloudnetGo CR9 device. But I was not able to boot the kernel.
At first it tried to build the kernel with omegamoon's buildscript for mk908 device because in this wiki (http://linux-rockchip.info/mw/index....CloudnetGo_CR9) they say the CloudnetGo CR9 device is equivalent to the mk908 stick.

While building there were no critical errors so I think that the kernel configuration is not right for the cloudnetgo cr9.
So I tried .config-files from Alok or the one in omegamoons github for other devices. The main problem is that i can't debug the boot process because the tv screen stays black and nothing happens after powering on the device after a successful flash.

So I tried to play around with different initramfs. But I think the problem is in the kernel because when I switch to Alok's precompiled Picuntu 4.5 NAND-Kernel everything boots up fine.

I am a very beginner in building kernels so I thought you could give me some hints for debugging the kernel or maybe you have an idea where the configuration must be diffrent for every diffrent device.

Thanks in advance and keep up your good work

For increased stability and building own kernel with changes/improvements from other kernels. The 3.0.8 kernel sources that work with my device(MK808B) is old and wifi/bt isn't working, only with stock kernel.

new kernel won't fix that the reason for the wifi/bt not working is probably because we don't have a driver for it

Here is a MK808b 3.0.72 kernel config file
                          https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B2Jo...qSDBTRkww/edit
Doesn't matter what I do, can't get the kernel to boot, only black screen or no signal on screen.
I see other people have a similar problem.
Anyone with a RK3066 device that could compile a kernel and actually get it to boot with no problems?

I wish people could just make this kernel more compatible and update it so everyone can use it instead of the outdated Rockchip kernels.

Anyone got it working and willing to share their exact steps eg.
                              Modifying boot.img files
                              Modules required.
Kernel compile steps required, do you still need to change the build sub in the make file to 36 or should it stay at 72.

Anyone know how to incorporate the new mt7601 Mediatek wifi drivers into this kernel as it compiles with an error if you choose that wifi.
Here are the mt7601 wifi patches from Rockchip, but it's to complicated for me to use it.
                              http://www.mediafire.com/download/n1...601_patches.7z
Can anyone maybe incorporate those wifi patches into another RK3188 kernel source for me if possible since most RK3188 kernel sources don't have that wifi chip files.
I have a EKB311B RK3188 TV Box with above wifi that no kernel can work on except stock.

I still wondering what the case is.
Tried to change from lcd0 to lcd1 as some mentioned.. still no succes.

                                still wondering....
