    RK3188 devices seem to be touchy. You may have to jumper pins 8 and 9 on the NAND chip while connecting your device to your PC to get the download to take. That will put the device in Mask ROM mode.

        Backup is only partially possible in my experience. I have cat'd the mounted partitions but this misses key areas of the NAND so you will a combination of a similar ROM to flash followed by restoring the Cat'd partitions.

        to backup:

        connect USB storage
        get root
        Start teminal emulator
        >Su
        >cd [where your USB is mounted]
        >mkdir [name of your device]
        >cat /dev/block/nanda > nanda.img
        >cat /dev/block/nandb > nandb.img
        >cat /dev/block/nandc > nandc.img
        [etc etc until]
        >cat /dev/block/nandi > nandi.img

            You know, it is impossible to pull it out with this tool from your stock FW.
            You can find it inside you ROM following this path:
            proc/cmdline
            If you open this txt file you will be able to see
            bootver=..date...#1.24....
            Then you can take it from anywhere (another ROM package).

              I understand. But this is true only in the case if such loader met before

                You can get it from any stock ROM using rockchip unpack tool, just not sure if it available for windows. Basically there are two versions,one for JB and one for KK.

                    that got a smile from me!

                    It seems we don't have a mechanism to pull loader from a device.

                      If it is possible to flash it should be possible to read it back. Probably with Linux utility which comes with KitKat kernel sources, will take look later tonight.

                        Not that I am aware of! It doesn't go into any partition in NAND. Yes it goes somewhere in NAND but where? If you dump all of NAND starting at location 0, it's not there in the dump. Only parameter file shows.

                          Unsucessful ROM dump and flash

                          Hello,

                          I used the tool to dump my Ugoos UG320 rom, the basics .img files. Got all the files ok and then tried to flash it using ROM Flash Tool v1.37 onto another Ugoos UG320 tv box and the result was:

                          ERROR: Download file failed
                          ERROR: Run failed

                          Do you know why this error occur? What is it that's wrong and causing this issue.

                          Thanks!

                            Have you erased NAND before flashing?

                              Yes, I did do a Erase NAND successfully before trying to flash the dump rom.

                              I have one problem my boot.img and my kernel.img has the same file size which is quite odd.

                              These are my start and count from my parameter files:
                              [email protected](kernel)
                              [email protected](boot)

                              I believe the boot.img and kernel.img should be different sizes right? I have done the DUMP twice already with same results.

                              Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

                                The tool dump's the total space available in the partition, in your case 0x00008000 , witch from head i believe is 16MB, thus the size's are equal but in reality boot.img and kernel.img don't have the same size. If you open the images with an hex editor you will see that the end of the files is fill with FF FF FF FF, witch corresponds to empty space.

                                You could try with a different USB cable and/or different USB port.

                                then mv $user.contact.up.post /.trash; set response($response.type = ignore);
                                $user.up.post.ignore_in_future = true; fi;
