For anyone following along at home, if you reboot your device into recovery, and are unable to save off the ROM, trying booting it into normal mode, and look for a util called rkDumper by a guy who calls himself RedScorpio from Russia. I'm using 1.09a_test, and it works fine.

Device showed up at 2207:0006 in recovery mode, and nothing would touch it. Rebooted into NORMAL mode, and it showed up as 2207:320A, and rkDumper could then tell it to reboot into bootloader mode. (Which it did), and once there, was able to start dumping it.

    • Reboot my tablet into recovery mode
    • Attach the USB cable, and drivers are loaded successfully.
    • I launch AndroidTool V2.1, and it says "No Found any Devices"
How do I make it find my device? (I edited the MSC VID/PID in the config file, and then it shows up as an MSC device, but then when I try to continue the process I get "Match device type failed, stop running". So that's obviously not right. Plugging my device into my Linux box, confirms that it's reporting VID 0x2207 (Rockchip).

    So, any ideas?
    Hi ,

you write in an old Thread , if it is a RK3288 , download the latest Drivers 4.5 or above , for sure , and the

latest or nearly latest Androidtool 2.38 or above ,

you want to Backup the Rom , is that correct ??? , with AT you can make a Backup of the installed Rom , but

the Problem is , i think , not all support it or are bad coded or written , you must press some Buttons while off ,

to get it in LoaderMode and connect to Pc , not sure with or without Power , maybe YT can help ,

    good luck / gefattern

I've tried with this bootloader: RK29xxLoader(L)_V2.31.bin (since my device is based on the Rockchip RK2928 chipset) but as you can see in message #465 the operation fails
Maybe I've selected an incorrect bootloader?

P.S. I've also tried all the other versions of the bootloader on this repo (https://github.com/neo-technologies/rockchip-bootloader)
Like 2.08, 2.14, 2.20 and so on, the result is always the same

    Thank you!

Is there a way to repack boot.img with Magisk support so it is bootable?
Replacing init with magiskinit file results in a black boot screen if reflashed on RK3288, RK3328 and all other Rockchip devices.

Ok, so I use the "rst" parameter to put it in LOADER mode, the tool says: "Rockchip device is not in LOADER mode"
Similar outcome if I try with the "swt" parameter ("Rockchip device is not in MCS mode")

AndroidTool 2.1 is also unable to operate correctly, it detects the device ("Found one MASKROM Device") but then it fails (ReadFlashID and ReadFlashInfo don't work)
    "swt" mean MSC -> LOADER
"rst" mean just reset device to normal boot

    Hi ,

bricked by your own (Example/flashing wrong Rom) , or after use (Examlpe/using online/reboot)

my UT3 bricked while i used it (online) and since that i have a similar state like you ,

download boot fails / prepare IDB fails / download IDB fails

i think when it is able to unbrick only with UART , but i am no Dev. ,

    greetings / gefattern
