The hardware is based on the MTK6757 called Helio P20. The octacore CPU performes with 6GB RAM fast 64 emmc of course without any latency. This is upper class Mediatek power. All apps are snappy.
The screen gives you a responsive feeling for typing and the quality of the 5 inch full hd screen has a colorful warm impression, rich in details for videos and pictures.
Wlan is fast with a high range.
A fingerprint sensor for unlocking the phone is a nice feature and it works fine.
In case you like to do some snappshots, you will get good results from 16MP Camera, but it can’t replace your reflex camera, when you like to take some advanced pictures of nature by example.

    Audio
The audio sound of the speaker is remarkable, very clear and loud. BT Audio will be connected fast at the first time, but not stable. Blackview will hopefully update their Firmware. The original earphones are acceptable.

    Firmware (build V0.1_20170803_20171011)
After undboxing your BV8000pro you better plan to update firmware of the phone. After that rare sudden reboots are history. I needed to flash the phone, because OTA update didn’t work for me.
Blackview has their own forum, where you can get the details -->Blackview Forum

I had some trouble with original USB C cable, because it won’t flash before I hold and press the cable in my Lenovo Notebook while the flashing process is running. This must be no problem at all, but it is good to know. Accept of this issue, the blackview cable looks thick and works fine for the fast loader job.
A full battery loading needs about 2 hours. The Capacity of the battery with 4150 mAh is really not bad, but on the second day, you can get in trouble. So you would load it everday.
The firmware includes an Oudoor toolbox like compass, barometer etc.

    Tests
For the outdoor usage the screen is bright enough, but not under the sun.
All standard apps for communication and office are working well. I have tested it with, Google apps, whatsapp, Skype and hangouts inclusive video.
Gaming should be no problem with the strong P20, but I have not tested it.
Here are the test results for antutu, epic citadel and Geekbench 4:

    Resume
The Blackview BV8000pro has a solid rugged design with a good hardware base. In details it needs some adjustments for BT in the next firmware update. All in all it is a useful outdoor phone, but how it performs in the field will show up after some practise.
I will add later some experience from hiking in the woods.

    +++ stable Outdoor design
+++ size of the phone has a good usabillity with a not too large 5 inch fullhd screen
+++ Speakers sound is very loud and clear
    + price is good
+/- battery could be stronger for an outdoor phone, but still enough for one day in heavy use
---BT (Audio) is now stable ---> January Update: Last firmware update has fixed the BT issue

Thanks to Gearbest for providing me with the Blackview BV8000pro.

I used BV8000 Pro from Blackview brand before. But after several-times
use in water environment, it went dead. So I tried S10 Pro, recommended
by my several friends. It’s really good, I have to say, It’s totally
fine even through numerous water immersion experience by now. I will buy
phone from you in the future.

      Okay divanshi,

it is enough celebrating Nomu S10pro. More than 10 post only to repeat the goodness of the devices on several places, while bashing other devices.
      This is advertising.
If you work for Nomu, then come back and contact us for serious advertising. Otherwise we got the point more than clear - you are a Nomu fan.
