    ROM Emulators?

    OK folks, I am new to this game pad thing.

    Any tips on how to setup and use ROM game emulators?
    Where to get them and what's the best emulator?
    Where to get legal ROMs and or games?

    Etc?

    Share your knowledge please.

      Glad to have something to share with you Bob
      On android there's finally an app that will list and propose you the download of emus and roms:"moR Games Pro".
      If you want to have some kind of frontend for all your emus seek for "RetroArch" (they do not list all emus but the idea is pretty neat).
      Mame, N64, PSX for big setup and any older system are emulated on Android.
      Pick one, have fun...
      Also some adventure oldies from LucasArt and Sierra are playable via ScummVM (love it).
      Some emulators needs some bios which are firmwares (PS1, Neo Geo, Amiga etc...), not always available on emu and roms sites.

      PS: most of them are not "legal" but still "abandonware"

        My JXD pad came with a bunch of them already installed...but most are in Chinese.

                My GP-9700 does come with a button and joy mapper utility. It works but I was thinking of adding Tincore's wonder utility. It's just been so long since I had time to mess with it so I have to learn to use it again

                    I got permission from Tincore to add it to my ROM for the JXD. JXD had one in their JB firmware...but it wasn't included in the KK. I may have to grab it from the old ROM. Do you think it would work?

                      moRgamesPro got Coolroms site database and two others sites to download roms and emus

                      RetroArch some kind of frontend with many open source emus already included.
                      You can't download roms from it directly (I use the 1rst app or the sites listed in it to acheive that task)

                      Droid-CPC is an amstrad CPC emu, one of my favorite computer system of that time.

                        No, the emu and rom-apps you find at PlayStore. Just copy and past the name in Googles PlayStore. On the minix7-blog you can find system- and other apps. The second (humaniac) blog is a news-site.

                            Basically with Retroarch and Robert Broglia .emus we are most covered.

                            Just add Drastic for nintendo DS, Reicast for Sega Dreamcast, mupen 64 AE for nintendo 64, and PPSSPP for PSP. Another good alternative for PSX is ePSXe, since it's the only one that handle analogs the way they should work.

                            By the way, most emus included in stock firms of JXDs, iPegas o GPD devices are warez apps, including the happy chick one, which I don't understand how it is avaiable in google play store, because it's an app which download paid cracked versions of commercial emus.

                              What Emus are you using for SNES?

                              I've just tried out the following

                              • SuperRetro16 Lite
                              • Snes9x EX+
                              • John SNES Lite


                              I'm trying them with my favourite game of all time: Super Mario Kart
                              Super Retro 16 Lite works best but I cannot get the L + R buttons to work.

                              In Snes9X EX+ the L+R buttons works fine but the graphics doesn't work at all

                              I'm using an old Xbox controller that I connected via an old JoyBox. I tried JoysticTests and all buttons gives me output but I have no clue for what to do now

                              What are you using for NES / N64?
