    I spotted this interesting Tab - Ployer momo11

    Odd name but interesting specs.
    9.7" screen 1024x600
    1 gig memory
    16gig built in storage.
    1.2ghz Rockchip RK2918
    HDMI out.
    5 point multi touch.
    Has a real "host" USB port

    Only $220. This in my opinion beats the Arnova 10G2.

    Interesting on this tablets ROM.
    System.img is already a EXT3 file system. However to root it you have to take apart boot.img. This boot.img is TOTALLY different than the Arnova's. Looking at it with a hex editor it starts with a header saying ANDROID!

    So it is very different. My unpacker will not unpack it so the format of it needs to be figured out. I wonder why the boot.img is so different from manufacturer to manufacturer? Must be something in the non-flashable ROM that the manufacturer creates and decides how to compress or pack boot.img.

    So here we go again. Gotta go see what I can find about this boot.img and unpack it.

        I am an idiot

        This ROM is setup like the RK28 tablets. Boot.img is setup with the kernel and a ram disk. It requires a different set of tools to unpack it. I gotta go find them and get them in my Ubuntu install.

          Spec look really good. Downfall is I don't see any stateside carriers or any retailer I have used.
          Shipping could be an issue.

          I will add it to my short list for my next tad.

            Hi! I bought atablet from the same company and ithas the following specs:7" screen, 512Ram, 8GB internal storage, same specs as Momo 11. I would like to root this device but without success so therefore Ihope you can find a way to do it. I have a copy of the ROM that I have downloaded from the manufacturer's website. Other than that I have no clue as to what else to do and also afraid thta if I try the methods that others have done I might brick it.

                    Yes I have the MOMO11 ROM but let me tell you... it is a MESS... I can't boot it so I cant even tell if I make a brick ROM. You will do lots of flashing I think while we try to improve this ROM

                      I sure will Bob. I need to translate all the Chinese docs in the firmware folder. Was the momo 7 Rom totally different than Bob, if so wonder why this is so different. You could try the Telcast firmware for this tablet to see if that is any better.
