some days ago, we are also looking for MTK(Mediatek) ROM Developer. We want to offer much more support for smartphone.

You can see , we also sell the smartphone, but now in this business, little support can be found.

I really hope some developer can contact me, and i want to work with you guys!!!

Also for OP,i think i can get the basic stock firmware from factory.
If you need,i will try to get.

    thanks

Glad to hear that shops like Geekbuying are interested in getting Rom support for these devices. It's too bad that the chinese groups that develop these phones don't realize the benefit of offering support on their devices. The minimal cost of having an Android Dev on hand to constantly be working on support and upgrades, would more than be outweighed by the increases in sales. When making a $100+ purchase you want to know you can rely on product support. I know that before I purchase this type of product I try to at least find active Rom development.

Thank you but I have not yet purchased the device. I am currently looking into solutions for my friend . She has a Sony play but is looking for an upgrade. She has almost 1 1/2 years left on contract and the buyout is terrible.

The chinese phones look like the best option but the lack of Dev support makes it frightening. Hopefully Neomode can help to get a dedicated China Phone support section up and running with curious Devs popping in to dip their toes. If we're lucky, Freaktab could become the place to go for Chinese phone support.

Just wondering if there has been any further development on this topic, and if so, are there any specific models that you guys are looking over?

            Chinese Android phone support??

I'm interested in learning this format, but so far haven't found tools or instructions on how to develop MKT ROMs.

Is there one of these phones that will work on US. AT&T networks? If so, I'll try to get one to test and develop. I really want one with a 5.3 or 5.7 inch screen.

So far, I haven't found any resources.

I need a way to extract and repack the rom files. The ROM's look easy enough, but none of my usual techniques work. I haven't even been able to mount a system.img because I don't know what file system they use...and no way to tell.

Does anyone have experience with this?

              Re: Chinese Android phone support??

This phone has the same processor and gpu like my phone.
I maked my Rom with cwm recovery.
              I took a backup.
And copied all the system files to a cwm zip file.

hmm... Great but reliability is the main problem with Chinese phone. If Chinese phone show greater reliability then i am sure they can even beat Nokia.
