NAND Chip Mask ROM Mode Short Location

I take 2 pictures of front and back of my mibox 2s
Could you say me which one is CPU ?
And how can I get it to Mask mode??

Hi ,

you have a AML CPU , not sure if it is called the same , MaskRomMode is used for

Rockchip Devices , it is only a Name , you can get into it , if you short special Pins

on your Nandchip , this only must be done if your Box is bricked and you can not

connect it the stock Way , Download Mode is the stock Way for AML Boxes , i think ,

if it is possible to connect your Box the stock Way , try this first , no need to use the

restore Modus of PCB , remember , you must have the correct Rom to flash ,

This mode for amlogic devices is "World cup" mode
And my device is in that mode
Problem is official ROM
Our flasher just feed .IMG ROM but my device official ROM is with .zip
I can convert it to .IMG but at the end I need partition table .
That's it , I don't have partition table

yes that is correct , you need a .img File , but what happens if you unzip it ,

no convert , look for a unzip App or Tool and unzip that File and report what

is inside , good luck / gefattern

When I unzip the Official file there is these files :



We Extract these files into the flash memory and boot to download mode to update the device (In normal mode . Before bricking)

And what is in "update.zip"?

there are three Ways to flash , with PC and SDCard & Recovery , your .zip is the Recovery or SDWay , i think ,

more Recovery , but if you want to flash with PC , you need the full .img File for your Box , i cant say if the

SDWay or Recovery Way shall work on your Box , please use the "search" to find more over MiBox , until

now we have no own Category for this Players , maybe better to look for a MIBox Forum , but sure you will

get it solved , YouTube is helpful too , looks like you have both Files one .zip & one .img is this correct ???

I don't have .IMG file , I downloaded Minix m8 official firmware and unpacked it
i replaced base files and repacked it
But couldn't flash it
Flasher said : partition table error

it looked on the Pictures like it , but you can for sure download the latest Rom for your Box somewhere

online , maybe the best to look here for update.zip Instructions :

I think the chip within the yellow container is supposed to be shortened. I would try by gently shorten pin after pin on left side (marked lightgreen). If unsucessful then try right side (marked lightgreen)...

I recommend THIS to get into MASKROM mode.

Turn on whatever version of the tool you are using to flash your new rom. Then plug your device into your computer. Make sure you have drivers installed.

Walk down every pins you think may be the ones. With a little patience, you should find the right one.
