Returning bricked 751g's back to BL.

Finally had enough cash to get me one and picked me up one at BL. I noticed right off the bat the package had been opened and was suspicious. I open the box before I even left the parking lot. And just as I thought it was a used unit; obvious by the greese stains all over the inside packaging and manuals. Some fat phuck wanna be hacker just couldn't wait to wash his grubby lil hands before he molested it with his greedy filth. I had a gut feeling it was going to be defective as it was completely dead and had been obviously previously charged by some tub of lard punk. No battery indicator at all. Plugged it in to charge and nothing, no blinking battery, just a blank screen. I let it charge for a while and did all the reset tricks possible an nothing. It had been bricked and the little weesle didn't have the balls to be straight up and tell the clerk it didn't work. I exchanged it for the only other one they had, another opened unit, and to my demise it was bricked too. The lil punk probably did the same thing twice, freiking fatso idiot, didn't know what the heck he was doing. I ended up raising hell and got them to finally exchange it for the display unit, which worked for sure.

Come on people be honest, as long as u have the receipt they'll take it back for crying out loud!

Has anyone who has had the "lockup at logo" issue tried to apply the firmware update listed here?

I have a pretty well messed up PMID720 (and no firmware available, woohoo :P ) and am thinking I might just replace it with a D2-751G - at least there I can restore a factory firmware...

        Digital2 751G

I bought one and exchanged 2 because it wouldn't even power up after charging it all day on both.
The third I opened at big lots and it booted to an 85% charge.
Its pretty smooth..Like it a lot so far(second day)...Was having trouble with loading Google plus and others with an error stating google services is not compatible with device..I followed directions with update and now it works like a charm. Im sure its rootable and it has a recovery so we can play and hopefully restore.
Much better and faster than the 721..That crap went to a backlit screen of nothing after boot logo..had it for 6 months i think..They actually gave me store credit and got this one for another 7 dollars..Very happy with it so far

Yes, and it does not work. The charging icon comes up and freezes as they say it should and that is where it stays forever.

          So no good.

            Crap. Yeah, that's no good.

I may have to get my hands on one and see how easily it enters that state. I'm still poking Southern Telecom hoping that they'll release a PMID720 firmware (so I can try to un-f+ck the one I have), but before then at least having a tablet that I can do a restore on - as long as it doesn't brick - wouldn't hurt...

              Would start

My buddy that bought one of these D2's had a problem getting it to start the other day. I asked when he last used it and it had been awhile. He noticed the charge was way down, not totally empty, so he let it recharge overnight and it seemed to work ok after that. I've been loading other apps for him and he likes it but is concerned about the start issue. I told him don't let it run out of battery power, so he will watch it and recharge when battery gets below 10%.

Why is it some tablets have great battery power where others do not? Is it the hardware inside that's causing a drain on the battery or is it the way the software is programmed that causes the drain? I had a Velocity Cruz that used Android 2.3 that never seemed to loose a charge and would run forever, but I also had a Sylvania tablet, also used 2.3, that seemed as soon as I charged it, it started loosing battery power. My LG phone seems to be like that, battery drains as soon as it's charged. What can you do to stop the battery from being drained so fast?!

                D2 Platinum 751G_MZ Rooting Method

Hello everyone, I purchased one of the latest revisions of the D2 Tablet Platinum (model# 751G_MZ) and tried every single rooting method I could find, not a single one worked on this tablet, even tried paid version of super-oneclick root and it says wait for new version! I ran out of software options to root the tablet. I WAS able to manually push su binary into the /data/local/tmp folder that is used to root the older 751G but it did not correct the permissions or put the su binary into /system/bin and /system/xbin.

I figured I was out of software methods so I took the best route and now have a completely hacked and 100% brickproof tablet. even tablets that are completely wiped out and appear to be off are recoverable now. this includes the "M6 USB" mode that means no bootloader is installed. What I did is outlined below, bear with me as I am not good with explaining things but the pictures should speak for themselves. after pushing the files into the /data/local/tmp folder I needed a way to move them and correct the permissions. knowing that recovery mode is able to flash and change things with root privs on almost all tablets after I added a Serial UART port to my tablet(see pictures) I booted into recovery mode and opened a serial console, I am able to modify u-boot parameters as well as debug and change just about everything. I mounted the /system partition from the root shell in serial terminal and moved the files using busybox cp, then chmod 06755 su to correct permissions. I then rebooted into android and installed superuser and sucess. I have root and much much more! I am gonna work on finding a way to do this using software but I could use some help with this. If anyone has questions please don't hesitate to ask.

                  I got the same tablet

The Table now cost 69.99 on Big Lots. Is a D2 Pad 7" Internet Tablet "Digital2" come with 8GB internal storage memory. You can upgrade to 32GB by put a microsd 32GB on the MicroSD card reader is a Dual Core Rockchip processor come with 1GB DDR3. The tablet come with Play Google Store. Pre-Install apps most are kid game and one office suite like Microsoft Office but of course for android is not the same but is very similar. I think the table is already root just you need find a good Root file manager program to delete un-wanted apps. The android version is 4.2 Jelly Bean. I guest you can upgrade to Android Kitkat4.4 but you need to root first to do that. Also I try Blackmarket Alpha and work fine on Digital2 tablet. Also I am installing Asphalt 8 and run fast. This game run without any problem. If you want root your tablet just download z4 Root or Framaroot 1.9 also install Roof File manager pro.

                    D2 back in again

I see Big Lots has the D2 tablet in again with KitKat 4.4, Google Play, dual camera's, dual core and 8 GB Ram. Should be good but watch it for battery life and recharge time.
