Installing and re-installing android applications - avoiding large downloads
Installing and re-installing android applications - avoiding large downloads
When we download an application from Google Play Store, it downloads and then magically installs on the Android device.
But supposing we do a Factory Reset, or that we upload a new firmware or simply suppose we have another Android device at home and we would like the same application to be installed there too.
Is it possible to somehow maintain the installation files and be able to copy these files off the Android device and then use them on another device, so as to avoid large downloads over and over again?

es task manager does it (you also need to install es file manager first)
Extra APP data is usually stored on your internal SDcard. Look in there and you should fine wither folders holding that data, or the data in a Android folder, etc. You have to look around on your SDcard as each APP may put this data in a different folder. Just copy that stuff to your other device AFTER installing the APP.

Thanks, that is exactly what I have done to Restore most of my apps, especially the GPS maps and a game called "Yesterday" with 1GB of data.
However that "data" was part of the game's installation. In other words, the game downloaded 1GB from the appstore and then it got installed. That means that the installation package was 1GB, and it contained the game code plus the data.
My question then is, where does Android put the installation files as they get downloaded from the Appstore, and what does it do with those files after?
