Developer option

I’m thinking of getting the Mecool M8S PRO W android box which runs android 7.1.1 tv os ( official version), the question I have is, how do you get to the developer option so I can install apk's , in the older version to get to the developer option you would go to the top and go right, go to setting then go to device, how do you do that in the newer android tv os 17.1.1?

I don’t find one video on YouTube that said you need to find build, by going into the about option finding build click on that 7 times, then click back, find system preferences and find developer option, is that correct, seems a bit long winded
