Which better h96max rockchip or a95x max amalogic... is it possible to update a95x max to pie plz help

H96_MAX RK3399 is already discontinued device, last year Rockchip said they would make Android 9.0 supported on the RK3399 chip. But of course the manufactures of these cheap android tv boxes will want you to buy a completely new device if they ever release a android 9.0 firmware, can be sure they won't give the update to the old devices. A95X_MAX is a decent device, I am waiting to receive the A95X_F2.

is there any pie update for A95x max ... a95x max and a95x f2 both have the same processor S905x2 .. A95x max has more usb port, SPDIF port and internal sata HDD/sdd port than A95x x F2

Chinese tv box manufactures are NOT concerned with providing any customer support or technical support; costs too much money apparently. So nobody knows "if" or "when" the A95X brand will release an OTA update for Pie for previous generations of A95X_Max. Most likely the manufacturer will just release a new hardware revision of the A95X_Max with Pie and change some hardware+software code so the Pie firmware is not backward compatible to old Max devices, and you have to buy the new device to receive Pie, which is what Beelink is doing for their Pie firmware for GT1-mini, their Pie firmware is only available on the new hardware revision.

Maybe a developer will release a custom Pie firmware for that device, or maybe someone might just port the the F2 firmware to the Max, either way you are left waiting for something that may not ever being coming.
