Hi artistic94555, I assume you were in a similar boat and that your Worldmax box was asking you illegally to pay again in order to continue using it? Whereas it was always advertised as a one-time purchase.

Did you have any success with finding an alternative means for streaming overseas TV?

You can use box for Android apps
One option is to email Worldmax and they will unlock it and you can use it for other apps like youtube, netflix etc.
I flashed it using Aidan's rom and use it mostly for youtube .

Will they unlock the other apps for free?

I'm aware that they will unlock the box for payment, but I'm not prepared to pay $120/year for something that was promised as a one time payment.

Yes, they will unlock for free.
after their email, you will run upgrade and box will be unlocked.
