My E888 RK3188 burn power supply.

    My E888 RK3188 burn power supply.

    Someone can maybe explain why all time i plug powered usb hub in my E888 and i turn it off by software, i listen a poouFF!! and the power supply is burned!
    it does 2 power supply in the trash.
    All my device support this kind of hub but not this model.
    Beware other owner...

    Could you post pictures.. So, we can see.. what combi doesn't work ?
    -- I'm wondering how your setup was.. ect..
    -where these CH adaptors? what Voltage did the have ?
    Stuff like that..

    ohh.. e888 is a stick..perhaps the USB powercable is broken (causing powersurge)

      Here all my combi, for the cable, i have changed all with each try. In the Hub i have just plug a memory stick and a mouse dongle.

        Cheap HUBS you buy from DX or other sites like it, have nasty feature. They return power to USB port. E.g. you can power your device via USB HOST port.
        In your case you have 2 power supplys, probably with slightly different voltage, and that caused one of them to burn, and eventualy that caused other one to burn too.
        Some devices have diodes on USB port in order to prevent this behavious. Some USB HUBS have them too. In your case you got combination of cheap devices without this kind of protection.

          Thanks mmm123, you have probably raison, bec when i unplug the power supply only, the unit is already powered.
          But how to find a hub with this protection?

            You don't need to, just use only one adapter.

              garbage stock power supply + cheap hub =fail
              buy a quality hub and power supply before you damage something other then a 15.00$ hub
              current devices(rockchip sucks)
              Hardkernel ODROID C1 running android kitkat
              Hardkernel ODROID XU3-L Running Linux/openelec (primary media server)
              rPi model B+ running nothing ... bricked

                Have you any suggestion for a good power supply? Can we use over 2A?
