How To Remove Text from Desktop Icons


This is far as I know only works on Windows Vista & 7

Just one of those pointless quick tips & yes a lot of you will already know how this goes :giggle:

Most of us don't really need the text under the desktop icons to tell us what they are, so below I have shown you one way you can hide the text easily by doing the following;



Ok.... Right Click the Icon you want the Text to be Hidden/Removed and select > Rename > Hold down the Alt Key > Type 0160 > Now click on an empty space to finalize change.

If the Number's "0160" fail to work then try "255"

Now your Icon text should be Hidden. :wink:

Remember to use the Number Pad to key in the nimber code :wink:

Just put your cursor on the Icon right click then go to delete and left click to delete.
