Landvo L200 USB problem

Hi Hope someone out there can help me.
Just got a new L200 mk6582, 1gb ram and 8 GB ROM.
Before I get to repartitioning etc I have a problem with USB connectivity.
As soon as I plug in a USB either wall charger or PC the phone typically shuts down and needs restarting with the super loud boot audio every time.....
I have managed to charge it once where it got up to 75% charge before turning itself off.
Can't charge or connect to PC as it just appears to shut down. Any advice?
How to do a hard reset on one of these?
