there's an app for that even on an android device;-) they should be in a stock rom, at least i had them just like mail, not gmail, not beeing certified by google only means that those native google apps like gplay or gmail are not installed. i'v placed those the files in /system/app and fixed permissions to rw- r-- r-- and they work;-) If you want to try it use the links below

there's definetly something fishy about this rom. Just installed g+ on the device and gplay put version 1.0.8 on my tablet. the current version is something around 3.1. on the other arnova tablet i posses the current version is running just fine. Both devices are on ics 4.0.3.
what determines the latest usable version of e g app?
I'd try to port the files from the other tablet to the 8bg3 if i only knew which of them...

This is going to be due to your build.prop I think. When I built this I added the latest AOSP ICS 403 Gplay files. But I did not modify build.prop.
So what happens is Gplay sees what device you are in build.prop and determines what version fo some gplay apps to give you. I bet if you changed the build.prop to a galaxy tab or something, you would get what your looking for.

Yes.... it for sure doesnt hurt to do that to have a fresh cache on those!

I manipulated build. prop no change afterwards i replaced the build.prop with the one from my arnova 8cg3 which runs the latest version of g+ but noch change either

Agreed... the above wont help at all! Google will not know what a an8bg3 is.
On my 10 G2 2.2 ROM I changes it to the most popular model out there! Galaxy Tab!

Yes Rom is fully functional and way better that the Arnova stock firmware.

you perhaps know, that Finless made this Custom ROM on my ask.
I used it now for a while and its very cool. Try it, if you are not happy you can

If you have problems with Incompatible Device Caution in GPlay than you have to edit build.prop
on your own.
