A new 1.4 ROM coming

I am going to do a 1.4 ROM for this Tab soon. It will be based on my Arnova ROM the same ROM that helped me crack this tablet. So check my post here abpout the new things coming I will try my best to add to your Tab....

Did you try this change in build.prop:

net.tcp.buffersize.default=4096,87380,256960,4096, 16384,256960
net.tcp.buffersize.wifi=4096,87380,256960,4096,163 84,256960

I think with this web browser work much better, sites load faster.

No sorry I have not tried that yet! Not enough time in my day to test everything

I will look into it though but maybe not in 1.4.

Since you are rooted you know you can make this change yourself for now. I like to test things 100% before I cook them in a ROM.

Any chance of adding init.d in 1.4 version?
Probably just add in init.rc:

# Execute files in /etc/init.d before booting
service sysinit /system/bin/logwrapper /system/xbin/busybox run-parts /system/etc/init.d
disabled
oneshot

set_perm_recursive 0 2000 0755 0750 SYSTEM:etc/init.d
set_perm 0 0 0755 SYSTEM:etc/init.d

I can't test this becouse I can't write in init.rc

I don't like to add things to a ROM I cannot test. So if I add this it will be a test ROM for you to test. I can do this now for 1.3 first for you to test.

Where in the init.rc should these go? Please give me the line that exists there ahead of wheree you want this inserted.

Ok I can test it, add this at the end of file init.rc

# Execute files in /etc/init.d before booting
service sysinit /system/bin/logwrapper /system/xbin/busybox run-parts /system/etc/init.d

Do you have a linux system setup? If so I can tell you how to unpack and repack boot.img and you can easily test this stuff. For boot.img you do not have to make an entire ROM and you can make changes and get by with flashing only boot.img.

You sound like you know what your doing so you might help us continue to improve these ROMs?

I have windows but installed cygwin, I try to repack boot.img but my version not boots, if you tell me how repack step by step I can try again

OK first things first. You need to go get RK Utilities and get them compiled in cygwin.

You will need rkcrc to be compiled. This version of rkcrc from the distro above has the -k option. The old version only had the -p option which wont work.

Personally I use VirtualBox which is free and I installed Ubuntu in a Virtual Machine. Much better than cygwin. If your going to get serious about modding ROMs you will hit limits that cygwin cant do.

Thanks for making the post on the Polish forum. I went and checked it out using google translate. Good job! Glad I could help for this tablet. Wait till you try 1.4 my friend! Your gonna love it.

I have no more idea why init.d not work, around 15 different init.rc flashing but still not work.
When exec this:

/system/bin/logwrapper /system/xbin/run-parts /system/etc/init.d

from terminal all scripts startup but not work automatic when system startup.
Any idea how start it automatic ??

OK so fill me in, what does this command do? If I understood it I might be able to tell you where it needs to be. I am still not an Android OS expert by any means!

This command start all scipts from /etc/init.d before android full startup.
If this start work we can try lot scripts-tweaks.
