    Nextbook 7 Google Play Help

I am running a Nextbook 7 unmodified. I manually installed google play it works basically except when i go to download apps from the market. It crashes. It is possible to use google play with a non rooted device. From what i gather from someone else it is crashing because cache/downloads doesnt exist. I have tried to create it but cannot.

Can i make google play work or do i need a rooted rom.

I have not heard much success with the latest google play being installed without root.

So this is why we root.... Some of the files have to go in /system or you get what you are seeing. crashes.

Linux shell script for loading Google Apps

      Guys,
I wrote a linux shell script for loading google apps. Make sure you've got usb debugging on and let me know what you think.

      Github repo - https://github.com/dwilkins/Nextbook7sGapps

It downloads the appropriate bits of the android sdk (adb) and the google apps for ics and shoves them onto your Nextbook NEXT7s (that's all I've got to test with)

The Next7s gives adb root automatically, so I do the followiing:Both devices I have give me root when I ask for it. I don't install su, busybox or Superuser.apk
