PLEASE HELP! --- NEXTBOOK 7 run down please?

OK guys, I think the nextbook 7 and all the models, serial numbers, etc is just out of control keeping track of what works on what and all the serial numbers / models

So I ask that people try to help others and reporting what serial number you have and what ROMs work.

I think we need a run down of this mess if you ask me?

So please report what you have, model like S, P, etc... and what your serial number is and what ROM works for you.

Next7P YF1211 only working with Finless' #1011

Next7P YF1211 only working with Finless' #1011 on ROM 1.4 and 1.5.

Latest BETA 2.1a (newer #1211) tried and failed on sound and wifi (and missing soft buttons).

So it appears we are not going to get much help from nextbook users here making a list of models that exist and what works on them. I am dissapointed people are not willing to help others by inputting

I get a PM or there is a post daily asking what to use. I do not know and cannot help them.

So you guys really need to try and help put a list together for other users!!!!

I looked at all of these posts in this thread and I thought lol (No offense implied). The only link I've seen was to a post that reported that it didn't work. (Which is probably a special case of wrong serial # or refurbished)

So at the very least report the Model, Serial # Range, and a link to the thread of said working rom

Well here's my speculation over all the confusion over all the Nextbook Premium 7 (Capacitive only).

There's really only 2 main hardware version and they're listed below in groups.
Version1: 0811,1011, and the occasional wrong serial# refurbished tablet
Version2: 0911,1211,0512
If there's a number range not mentioned I either don't know about it or can't be bothered to track down info about it lol.

My advice is if you have a #1211 or #1011 Nextbook Premium 7, make sure you have a copy of the STOCK ROM for each model number saved to your PC. This is due to the inconsistency of Nextbook labeling and can help you out of a brick situation.


My tablet: Nextbook 7 Premium #1211 (Model: Next7P)

OS 2.3
8GB SD Card (Max 32GB)

I have NOT tried it but the Manual says the reset hole on the back doubles as a mic.



1. All Finless Bob's ROMs up to 1.5 work perfectly.

2. I have also successfully tested and proven that Bob's #1011 version of these same ROMs run perfectly on this device.

3. For a very short time I tested Bob's Newer 1211 Nextbook ROM used as a base for GingerComb.
(please note, I did not have the time to test this Rom properly)The errors I did come across were:
a. Unable to connect to Wi-Fi even though I was able to recognize signals.
b. No sound
These appear to be minor and fixable things, when I have more time.

4. After that, and again for a very short time period, I tested Bob's Older 1211 Nextbook ROM used as a base for GingerComb.
a. The Wi-Fi fired right up. Sought out signals, and signed into my home network
b. I had no problem with sound working.
c. The battery icon did NOT appear. (Bob may have fixed this already)
d. Screen Orientation was off, however Bob showed me how to fix it with a simple build.prop edit.

Finless 1.4 Rom: No problems, Loved it!!!

Finless 1.5 Rom: No problems, Loved it even more that 1.4!!! (appinjector was a super plus!!!!!)

ICS 1.2: No problems, just ran a little sluggish; minor video problems (probably my fault) went back to Finless 1.5

Hi all,

I have 2 Next7P's, one still has the original stock firmware on it, the other was bootlooped, and just last night I tried the 0811 stock rom on it, It's working now. Now that I'm finding out what works, I can begin to play around a little bit more.
