You should be able to access recovery mode by holding either volume up or volume down while turning the tablet on.
In recovery mode, you should have an option for Factory Reset and/or wipe data and wipe cache.
Choosing Factory Reset or Wipe Data followed by Wipe Cache will reset your device to new condition. Unfortunately, you will lose all your downloaded apps and settings... but it will get rid of your current password.
