    NX785QC8G ''EBM865FD" build.prop needed!

    Hello,

sometimes everything that possibly could go wrong, does so when you
    least expect it.

So I got myself a new tablet today. A nextbook NX785QC8G. Sounds
like a pretty popular model...except that NextBook must have changed
their hardware again. Instead of the common 'M865FD' device, this one
    is a ''EBM865FD" one.

The tablet is rooted, but I did not get around to install any TWRP build
yet, never mind that for this new hardware version I've not found a
TWRP build I could use, yet.

Well, poking around the tablet, I tried some Build.Prop Viewer in order
to get my hands on the hardware data. The program had a 'Make Backup'
button. Instead of making a backup, it overwrote the build.prop with
    a zero byte file.

    Ooops.

I've not powered down the tablet yet. I've disabled all auto-sleep features
and hooked it up to the powersupply, so it should stay alive almost
indefinitely. Or until power fails, at which point the thing no doubt will
jump into a nasty boot loop.

So... I need a copy of the build.prop file. And not just for any old NX785QC8G
but for the EBM865FD model. Can anyone help me out? If not, I'll likely
get a second tablet of the same model tomorrow, to get my hands on
a copy of the file. How frustrating.

    Best regards,
    -Clyde

    Hi,

okay, leaving the tab powered up and running proved to be a good idea.
Turned out a friend of mine had the same tablet, same batch number, bought
the same week. So we just rooted his, then copied over the build.prop.

Tab runs like a champ, and I'm gonna be more cautious with 'build.prop viewers'
that promise to make a backup of the file for you at the click of a button.

Now if only I could get TWRP running on the thing. Will post a copy
of the build.prop later in another thread, maybe someone got an idea.

    Best regards,
    -Clyde
