I don't know why forums treat the Ares 10a like the plague, but i'm working on something as I've bricked mine as well.
Damn, 2018 ---> 2021... But if you're still stuck on yours like I am with mine, there IS something I was able to find that could help called Sunxi-Tools. But even between those guys and the rest of the internet the Ares 10a still doesn't exist, so they have a big list of device-specific guides for getting sunxi-tools working, But not even one Nextbook in any list much less an Ares 10a However their are "Allwinner A64" SoC devices in the tools DO work after I finally figured out how to build them.. mostly. And i'm making (very slow) progress. If I figure this out before anyone else beats me to it, ii'lll be making many post
