Binary patched kernels for Pipo models

I thought it wise to create a seperate thread for this as it is confusing people when optional kernels are posted in Randy's excellent ROM threads.

If you want a kernel patched and can't do it yourself using PHJAnderson's Perl Script then post a request with a link to the kernel you want patched in here and I'll do it for you when I get chance.

REMEMBER FLASHING PATCHED STOCK KERNELS IS DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK. IF YOU DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE, DON'T DO IT!

    Edit:

Since this thread has become so popular among those wanting to flash the most up-to-date patched kernels of Pipo tablets, I think it would be much easier to have this post as a central place to download the finished products. Below is a list of Pipo 3188 tablets with a download link (still under construction) to a zip file containing the current kernels.

    M7PRO 1.7 GHz 720DDR

First request is for the latest M7Pro kernel to be patched to 1.7GHz and 720 DDR. So far none of the 1.7 GHz patches have produced a stable kernel. PHJAnderson has explained that the kernels are limited to 1375 mV regardless of patches to the frequency tables and it seems 1375 mV is not quite enough to get a stable result at 1.7 GHz with stock parameters.

    RR -> V2.0

So far we have not had a working 1.7 GHz kernel so I suspect this is a non-starter. What model is it for and from what ROM?

I've patched it for 696 DDR at stock CPU and 696 DDR @ 1.7 GHz

Stock voltage for 1.6 GHz is 1300 mV and so I think it very unlikely the 1.7 GHz kernel will boot/be stable at the max voltage (1375 mV)

It think the M6 Pro tablet could use a little help with overclocking. The stock ROM and my ROM are pretty laggy. I'm willing to test, if someone would try patching the kernel from my latest ROM.

          Thanks!!!!!!

I downloaded M6 Pro V1.3 and patched the kernel. The original was 1.6 GHz CPU (@ 1300mV), 600 MHz GPU (@ 1250 mV) and 580 MHz RAM (@ 1300 mv).

Here is the kernel with CPU/GPU unchanged but RAM now clocked to 720 MHz @ 1200 mv. So this should run faster and use less juice. Let me know.

Are you sure you have posted the right file? Installing this kernel I have with antutu lower results (17250 points) than the stock one....

I've run it again and re-uploaded. I always give the laptop 5 minutes to finish start up tasks before measuring performance. Perhaps that's it?

And how is the score with the newly uploaded kernel ?
I'm wondering why they put such a weird value of 580 in the stock ROM

                      17200 with ram to 720Mhz
18060 with stock ram to 580Mhz
                      It seems really strange...

I will try to modify the kernel by myself changing also the cpu clock in such a way that I can check that the upgraded kernel is ok when the tablet is switched on.
Now I'm still not sure that flashing the kernel has gone ok...

Triyng to patch the firmware by myself with pjandrson 1.0 I get an error identifiyng the correct table for the Ddr. Which tool do you use to patch the kernel.img? i would like to try different voltage/frequency combinations to reach the minimum power consumption without affecting performances.

                        Thank you for your help.

PS: If I set a too low votage for properly power on the tablet, as far as you know is it still possible to put the tablet in flash mode to get it working again?

                          hey darrellr,

Thank you very much for your work.
I just flashed your DDr720 kernel for the m6 pro. I went from 18200 to 19000 in antutu and i feel the tablet is smoother. I have a question about the voltage. Wouldn't it perform better if you kept 1300mv with the overclocked ram?

                            Hi darrellr,

any chance to tweak the M9Pro (3G) a bit ? CPU to 1.7-1.8, maybe RAM as well if that brings something.. what about GPU ? Or stupid Q ?

I've done a new ROM for the M7 Pro based on firmware dated 11/2/13.

Any chance of a set of OC kernel's?

I've been using kernel_cpu1608h_gpu600_ddr720 and it works great!!!!!

                              Here's the new kernel:
