    [Pipo Project] M6 Pro

I've created this thread for discussion of the M6 Pro ROM.

A few months ago, Pipo entrusted me with the source code to their discontinued RK3188 tablets. Our team of developers has been hard at work making at least one last firmware version to address as many of the problems that were left behind when Pipo's development stopped.

    Here's Maakie's M6 Pro test ROM:

Here is v1.0 of the FreaktabROM:

I took Maakie's firmware with d33's kernel and added:

    Autoinstall
    Boot Animation by Tatty
    Busybox
    Rooted with Koushik's Superuser
Added things to the ROM kit I've always added
Added TWRP recovery to install after first boot
    Google Play Store fixes
    Some Build Prop Tweaks
    Added Multi-user Support
Added a bunch of parameter files
Added the First Time User's Guide

    Download

Here is the updated version from Maakie v1.1:

    Download

Thanks to Maakie's efforts, we now have v1.2:

    Wifi Version

    3G Version

Please read the threads about the changes in v1.2 and report your findings after flashing.

v1.1 was missing the First Time User's Guide, but I did include it in v1.2.

    First Time User's Guide

Enjoy and don't forget to donate to the developer of your choice.

Maakie, I've flashed your ROM and it runs very smooth. I've got an Antutu score of 22843 with complete stock configuration.

Can you post a list of the changes you've made to the kernel/ROM?

As soon as Tatty gets us some boot screens, I can do the usual RileyROM stuff.

    Rooting, Init.d, Busybox, Autoinstall.....

So far, a really good firmware!!!!!!!

I have only made some small changes apart from modifying it for M6Pro hardware

      ROM:
      Enabled SD display mode
      Enabled multiuser
Enabled quicksettings tiles for user, 3g and location
      Enabled rotation in launcher

      Kernel:
      Added Hotplug governor

There is a problem with playing video files in SD mode which will be fixed in next version.
Please report any other issues you may find.

        A few Questions :

        - is this an AOSP Rom built straight from googles source ?
        - which version is it ?
        - if it's built from source , is lollipop possible ?

I read some guides on how to build AOSP for any device
and found out that you need the vendors device config
in order to build a ROM. Did Pipo give you their sources for
the M6Pro , too ? Every Guide I read was missing the part where it explained how to use or where to put the vendor files. I want to learn how to port or build ROMs from source but can't find anything that goes beyond the point of setting up the build environment.

          Re: [Pipo Project] M6 Pro

These ROMs are being adapted from M8HD firmware sources provided to us from Pipo. We aren't allowed to share them, sorry.

I imagine that 5.0 might be a remote possibility...but no promises right now.

I will try it as soon as I can and report any bugs.
Is Pipo willing to give you M6Pro Sources too ?

Offtopic : Where did you guys learn to build ROMs from source ? Especially the part with hardware drivers etc.
I know how to build android for emulator , but want to learn how its done for real devices with real Hardware.

After two days use. this rom is stable and fast. Almost all fuctions work which include miracast. That is really good because the tablet reboot all the time before if i use it. But one thing Gps not working even could not find device .

                        Thanks for the report.

As soon as Tattman65 gets some boot screens ready, I will provide a rooted version.

Let's also see if we can get GPS working.
