Cracking this ROM for the P700

First please no requests or talk about cracks or keygen's here please....

You cannot permanently brick these devices even with a bad boot loader. My ROM kit comes with loader 2.08 which you should upgrade to but until you get the drivers sorted, you cant do that. These devices have in a ROM area the initial flash booter and it cannot be over written.

Something to check. Go into your BIOS and look at USB settings. On my Asus Mobo I have a setting for "high speed USB". This causes problems with many of my USB devices for some reason. I think it is some kind of early USB 3.0 implementation that doesnt work well. Try setting your USB in the BIOS to legacy or USB 2.0 or whatever you have available.

Also make sure you are not running through a USB hub. Remember some external USB prots on the front of PC cases maybe a USB hub so try connecting to one on the back of your Mobo. Make sure other USB devices are unplugged except for keyboard and mouse obviously. Something else plugged in could be causing a problem.

Yes error 43 i was getting that in windows 7. Now i believe you can go to the link on the error or right click on my computer and click manage. The find the device with a question mark in device manager and right click on that. Choose update driver then point it at the inf files that you can download from the previous link i posted it should install. After that succeds then clear the idb and flash the device. Rock and roll.

I gave up and finally just sent it into Polaroid and told em it was ****ed out of the box.....as soon as I get it back I will mos def be loading this rom onto it.....I appreciate all of the work you guys have put into this rom and into helping me....thanx a thousand times over

How do you "PULL" from a stock tablet and then how do you put it back if needed?

We do have a version of cm7 working on the tab, but a few things are broken. Mainly wifi and video are not working. You can find that rom in the folder linked above. All partitions are the same except of course the system.img and boot.img. Honestly, if you have any idea on how to get things working on the cm7 rom, I believe it would be easier and better.

I myself am just learning linux, but I should be more than able to help you with anything you need done (except getting the modified cramfs.c to compile!)

Also, I am not 100% sure, but I do believe the one and only difference between the pmid700 and ptab7200 is internal storage space. I do know that people have flashed my modified cm7 with all other partitions from my pmid700 onto their ptab7200 with success.

Sorry if tis seems to be a really "newby" question, but hey, I am a newby. I have 2 Polaroid A/S10 tablets. I flashed a rom to one but not it cannot activate wifi, so I want to pull the original filesfrom my other tablet so I can upload them to the one that is not working properly.

I really need STEP-by-STEP instructions.
