Yeah, my laptop died so I need you guys to continue the project:

These two folders contain tar.gz for the kernel source. One has the 3.4 kernel, which is obviously the second folder, and the first folder contains the 1.2 firmware kernel we use in our firmware, which is 3.3.0. I'll see what I can do when I get a chance, but for right now we need to get Android 4.4 to boot, which is our only problem now (kernel boots).

So when you have both unzipped and extracted into your computer, repo sync the CyanogenMod 11 repo. Using the android source located in both of the SDKs, take the device/softwinner folder and copy it to the device folder in the CyanogenMod folder. I don't remember the rest, but I'll get back to you when I get a laptop running.

I'm interested in helping. I am a Noob now but 15y ago when I was a kid I was all over Linux re-compiling away. I am going to read up.

Thanks to Amanoffewwords I know the hardware specs for the S8 to be:
        CPU: Allwinner A20
        GPU: Mali-400
        Android version: 4.2.2
        Android kernel version: 3.3.0+
        Screen dimensions: 1080x720

        Kernel source: https://github.com/linux-sunxi/linux...-sunxi-3.4/a20

        (This is kernel 3.4 btw)

Here is kernel 3.3 source. Credit to Amery of github and linux-sunxi of github.

My objective it to get Netflix working smoothly using KitKat!

I finally have my Ubuntu 13.04 environment setup.

I am going from absolute scratch. Compiling the Sunxi kernal.

One issue I have come across is the config files for sun7i in http://linux-sunxi.org/U-Boot#Compilation

          In u-boot it's not there. There's an A20 derivation: A20-OLinuxXino_MICRO a simple home-build board and also sun4i and sun5i but no sun7i...

Well I have gone a little off-topic. I am trying to build a new ROM from the base up, overclocked, and with the latest MALI-400 drivers and based on KitKat. I need a .fex for the A20 i7sunxi so am currently trying to decompile the rooted Google kernal others have created here: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...TWRP-Tuned-***

Hey guys any chance you got any new update on this project? I am interested in overclocking this tablet but I was wondering if it's even possible at the moment?
