I think it must be a software issue for me if it is working on one but not the other.

Will start from the bottom line - HDMI now works.
it took 6 roms to get there, including official and custom.
the winner is Finless 15a with 338 kernel..gif "HELL YEA!!")
i guess there was something really broken in the low level software, that the 338 kernel provided in the Finless 15a rom fixed.
now i will try to flash the Finless 15a with the 485 kernel and try the HDMI again.

after many tests, i can say that the only solution to my problem from all roms and kernels known to me
the Finless 1.5a with the 338 kernel is the only one that have HDMI working on my very special N101.
it doesn't "fix" it for other kernels like the touchscreen issue.
now i have to decide if I should return my special N101 to eternal team and ask for a new one.
any suggestions?

Thanks for your post, I spent hours trying to get the mini HDMI on my wife's computer to work and shaving the connector was exactly what it needed and now works perfectly. Thanks for sharing
