Lets have a look see at what we have and later some test
Hopping for something special with the Video In side of things, it just a video Switch option to another input, might be handy, but was hoping for something more
Startup all good running A9,
Own UI,
Google, Ethernet and WiFi, all good no problems with start up etc By looks good here
Looking ok for what it has to offer,
An OTA update, optimised some apps is all it's saying.
To continue on,
Thought with A9 it may have added some Zing and Bling but needs some work.
Runs a little warm as you will see it temps in some Captures (top centre)
Has Root no Upper or Lower task Notification bars:
DRM L3
Kodi had troubles playing files in general
Plex would play most without audio on the is box
Netflix SD (expected)
Clean looking UI easy to Navigate with Remote and Keyboard I found
Budget Box running 1.5ghz or so, low end of the deal
Does most ok, HDMI Input may be handy if you need that Extra input.
Lets have a look see UI Installed Apps:

Hello ! there is firmware for the x96h device but it is not clear for which version of them it is 3 ... there are 2/16 and 4/32 and 4/64 help clarify the circumstances
New ROM update available for the Smart TV Box X96H that includes a new Allwinner H603 SoC a Quad Core and an ARM Mali-T720mp2 GPU capable of processing video
Guys any idea how to record via the hdmi input, the box does not include any apps to use for the recording of or even viewing of the hdmi input devices connected, this was the whole intention I bought the box for to record consoles and my pc, I see the probox ava has the app called hdmi in any idea as have that firmware stripped I have the app for system/app folder but it doesn't copy into the system/app folder it says failed to copy, I also would not know where the app data for it resides to copy that either? But I am desperate to get a way to record the hdmi input on this box please help.
Figured part of it out the hdmi input activation (turning on the hdmi input) is not within the os it's via a source button on the remote to switch it over to the hdmi via the remote controls source button, this is still confusing as to weather it can be used to record or only used as a simple pass through for input devices as it doesn't seem to have an app as such it's just a channel to watch through the second port by the look of it.
If anyone can tell me if it's possible and how to do it I would be greatfull.
So as far as it seems this secondary hdmi input may be nothing more than a worthless gimmick yet to be exposed or could actually provide recording via an app or method nobody has yet disclosed, if it is a simple second port for only playing through it's totally pointless and to me constitutes a gimmick albeit a ploy to give the buyer the misled thought it will allow recording who knows???
Wondering if this ROM IMG will work for all models (2G and two 4G)?
Also, has anyone successfully sideloaded the current Kodi? Got my box today, got much of the Google bloat frozen, but couldn't get Kodi 18.5 installed. I went so far as to uninstall the "KD Player" (after a TitaniumBackup, of course) and still get App Not Installed. I'm nervous about running a box with an edited version of Kodi...one never knows what info it's sending where. (Also hate the "clean interface," but once I get it to the point I can trust it on the Internet, I'll blow past that by autoloading Kodi at boot.)
I received this tv box due to an error (I had ordered X96 air).
The good thing is that I didn't pay for it.
Aesthetically it is one of the ugliest TV boxes and having too many TV boxes I thought I'd sell it and keep myself EACHLINK X3 MINI (which reading the technical review seems better).
Then I tried it (I'm mainly interested in streaming) and I didn't see any differences, on the contrary, sometimes I had the impression it had better video quality.
So considering that X96H has 3 USB ports instead of 2 I kept it.
I installed all my apps without problem, including kodi 18.5 from the play store (obviously I first uninstalled the pre-installed kodi fork).
The only difference I noticed is that the other tv boxes see kodi in 1920x1080 resolution while X96H in 1280x720. I don't know if it depends on the fact that my TV is 1280x720
Nope, everybody hates Allwinner Chip boxes, maybe you can find a custom ROM on Russian website 4pda.
If you need stock rom try Chinagadgetsreviews.com
i can't understand anything on this site
the roms themself are only in russain and made my other device(X88 king) to get super hot so i don't really trust their roms anymore
