    Beam. e27 led projector

So, I work in my free time at a kringloop store (in other countrys its called driftstore? )
A Beam led projector came in with a note : bought from kickstarter never got it working

    info
    Android 4.4
    Allwinner A20 dualcore
    Proberly : 1Gb ram
    Freespace : 4Gb
    screensize : 854 x 480 HD with 100 lumen
    Maker : Beam Labs inc
power provided by E27 lamp connector

One powerbutten : On / short press : lamp funtion Or a Longpress : Setup device and wifi
On boot the system can be connected to by Wifi and Bluetooth

if the unit is configured..and click long on button on unit..you get option to poweroff
But using same button on unit to turn on the unit..does not work
aka..you need to use power switch to force it online

As i did not have access to a android phone...
    I used a PC's wifi...and connected to ssid : Beam****
    The manual says use : controlmybeam.com but i got a 404 eror
    The Pc got a Ip : 192.168.43.34
Then I used a browser...and found the website at 192.168.43.1:8080
From there i was able to control the Beam/proj setup interface using the pc mouse

If you use the Setup wizard it will ask your router wifi user/pass, but then you will lose the abilty to control the unit
Then friend came by with phone..and we did everthing from start..hey could use Beam Remote app...till you setup wifi
even with phone and Beam connected to same router the app refused to find Beam

At home used old tabled android 5.1 with Beam remote app ( note : maker has 2 apps on playstore a find & remote app)
got a bluetooth keyb connected, then i got it working over my wifi router

So, its best to choose Skip Wifi setup
Then you get the androids Gui / show all apps / settings / from there setup a bluetooth keyboard connection
I was able to setup wifi from there...

But most preinstall apps are outdated and updating them would crash app
-the apps like youtube (that only gave option update ) and chrome ( smart youtube tv however worked )
sending apk files using BT fails, but zip-ing them before sending them works

playing youtube was a bit jittery at start
disabling google apps and installing f-droid and aorastore
    made youtube streaming beter

My goal was to use unit as ad-board for store...display text then run vlc video?
But the preinstalled Beam Boss app is crashing..So, play video on boot using Vlc or even display more then one text (beam service stopt )
the unit also forgets the shortcuts on the launcher..but not from the show all apps/menu
unit has No root / it does include airplay (not tested ) / no reboot or shutdown options-button or app
remote app has on/off but it just turns light off

Its quite sad, the idea of the device was great... but the software is outdated and far from stable ( boss app, launcher and remote app )
-looking online this unit on kickstarter cost 399 usd when it came out, thats quite a big jikkes
    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...n-any-light-so

Anyway, im making this post to help others who have this device

    Cheers

    Some other thoughts..
These days..we get allot more android device in the store
like: raspberry pi / tv boxes / tablet /iPad

But PC'S are rare these days
with the exception of chrome books, apple core2duo products and laptops

nes / wii u / commador 64 / snes are also selling good
commandor 64 sold today for 150 with tape and a buch of games

Currently.. there is a high demand for iPads..at kringloop store
As Apple stores have a deal : pre-order new ipad with Bionc a13 chip, bring-in old ipad.. get discount

    Cheers

Chromebooks are great, cause you can reuse them as Windows Linux Machine.
All you have to do is reflash the Bios.
      Look here --> https://mrchromebox.tech/
Often you can upgrade Ram and add an SSD.

          True, sharing is caring ;-)
Take some of the Chromebooks and let them fly again ;-)
