Youtube 1080p fix without loosing navbar (1440p possible without navbar)

sorry can you just clarify, will this work if i don't want to use the terminal commads (wm...?) I am fine with no navbar.

Update: just tried changing build prop... Changed all necessary lines to nexus 10 etc and also disabled nav bar but no change in YouTube app after reboot. Still no 1080p option

If you want 1080p you ll have to use an emulator...

type su and press enter. enter these 3 commands: wm size 2560x1440 wm density 320 reboot as said before

I'll try 1920x1080 with density 240 (not today!)

I tryed with 1920x1080 without changing density but bad result! I had to restor full system...

Alright guys so this what I have done so far:

1. changed build.prop to include
ro.product.model=Nexus 10
ro.product.brand=google
ro.product.name=mantaray
ro.product.device=manta
ro.product.board=manta
ro.product.manufacturer=samsung

qemu.hw.mainkeys=1

2. in terminal:
su wm size 2560x1440
wm density 320
reboot

after all this still no difference

Do a benchmark with antutu and see if it shows 1920x1080 resolution. The wm command is optional. Did you reboot your device ?

I checked the resolution in cpu z and it says 1920x1080... And yea I thought the wm stuff was optional.
Yup I rebooted but no fix.

Maybe it does just not work with your device.
If you want, post your build.prop. maybe we find something there.

Just in case : 1080p option exists ONLY for some 1080p videos, NOT any video.

No odd at all! You can upload a 360 or 720p video on YouTube , you never get 1080p option.

Open YouTube app.
Search for Planet earth amazing nature scenery
