Ok so i have a G-box Midnight MX2

No go on wifi. Not working
display resolution works on 720 1080 60hz, black screen 50hz. works for me
display position crash when I try to adjust. works for me
using gmote flymouse works perfect. can't test
bluetooth USB dongle not recognized, never has been since second stock firmware. can't test
settings mbox double overlay of display adjustment plus or minus circle (never goes away till relaunch). not seen this
root good
netflix good
xbmc beyond 3.3 micro stutter can't see it maybe little. I'm using xbmc beta 1, will stream OU 3d 20GB 1080P no problem

I can also confirm that spdif is working for stereo playback, not tried any other mode.

It looks like Matricom has hired a developer from the AOKP project to work on their new firmware and the company is now going opensource on the latest MX2 firmware.

there new firmware 1.17 is not coming rooted which is the reason i bought the gbox mx2 so im gonna have to wait to someone roots the thing

Hi guys im a noob to the forums and to rom customization in general looking for some help

I have a generic MX dual core, and have been supplied a flash firmware and image from the supplier. This image is basic and has a lot of bloatware apps which i want to remove and put some of my own

The image supplied is a zipfile and contains
factory_update_param.aml
hd18d_mx4.zip
recovery.img


I am able to successfully restore my box with this image (so I know that the image is working fine)

Within the hd18d_mx4.zip there is
Directotories: data, META-INF, recovery, system
files: boot.img, bootloaded.img, logo.img


I can see the all the system APK files within the system/app folder. The problem is when i try to add another APK file into this directory within the archive (kodi.apk), I am not able to restore the image to the MX device


Can anyone help me with a noobies guide to do this. I have read that the apk file has to be signed, and the zip file has to be signed also??

Any help or tutorials will be much appreciate. I have downloaded the APK-multi-tool but dont have a clue what I need to do
