Hi all, nice work done here, still a bit confusing to me as i dont have any aditional ir remote, but i have one question and feel that here is the place to ask:

My MXIII Plus comes with its own ir remote which seems to work quite well, the only thing bugging me is that i have no way to configure what app to open with the special media buttons, the music button always opens the internal music player, which is a pita imho, i would prefere it to open my prefered audio player instead. Same with video...

        anyone able to help here?

The media and app buttons are handled by Android. It Try "Media Button Router". It could also be due to your audio player set as a default (or not) or how it's manifest.xml file was created. I wish I knew the exact method so I could hack some apps around.

Hello, I changed remote.conf for the WDTV Live Hub Remote (you can google it if you are interesting, nothing special - jsut a remote). But I am experiencing one problem - in remote.conf I changed POWER WAKE to the wdtv hub scancode, but it only works when I want to put device in sleep mode. It won't power it on from sleep.

Could someone tell me where the factory code of the remote.conf is coming from? The NEC protocol sends 2 address bytes (1 is inverted) and the same for the command itself. So where is the factory code coming from? Or is this only given for the extended NEC protocol?

The power on code is hard coded in the firmware from what I could tell. Mine was 0x0A. You can program any button to power off/sleep in remote.conf or the key layout file, but you must send the right button code to turn it back on. In my case, that's the Channel Up button. And it ignores the factory code, so any remote that sends that will turn it back on. Awkward.

Nope. Though that seems pointless when you have a Universal remote or learning control.

See the first post. You use DMESG to see the output from the control system. It will tell you the factory code it sees. I don't think my remote was extended NEC.

Not that I could find. Since we can't send shortcuts, and short of modifying the launcher or apps to register as something like APP_VIDEO or APP_CALC or something.

Hi, thanks for the post, it works with amlogic remote.... I have another problem, I need to cofig my HDMI-cec remote in same way, I found vendor and product code from remote.conf file. But I can't able to find vendor*_product*.kl file.

Thanks for the post. My problem is that the buttons that don't work have a different remote factory code.

As you can see lines 2 to 6 have factory code as 0xfe010001 whereas all other keys have factory code 0x40400001. In that case, is it possible to include two factory codes for the same remote?

cde if on/off is hardcoded...no possibility to change? Do you know where exactly hardcoded?

Either in firmware, or in the driver module for it. Its not in normal userland code as far as I could find, but I'm not a coder or kernel hacker.
