MXQ Firmware help

Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy an MXQ box like the one pictured below:



I have a firmware file but it is .img format. Can anyone tell me how I can extract it. I've edited firmware from the older MX boxes but that was in zip format and far easier

Any help would be gratefully received!

I'd like to add and remove some apps. I also want to change the launcher to a custom XBMC apk I have.

Thinking about it, if anyone has a zip version of the firmware, that would be great!
