    M8 wont boot into recovery, toothpick or though reboot app

    Hi,

    I have a M8 that will not boot into recovery which is preventing me from updating the firmware via SD Card/USB Stick and the update tool. It is also not allowing me to factory reset the device.

    Has anyone had this issue and can they lend a helping hand to get this working again?

    Thanks

    If you're willing to open up the box, I would suggest trying the NAND pin 17 and 18 shorting method that is talked about in the thread below so you can bypass booting up from the NAND and boots up from sdcard (at least from all the reading that is what I've learned/understood):

    Update:
    What I've learned from reading is. You should be able to short the 2 pins, put the sdcard with the files for updating the firmware into the sdcard slot and plug the power in. Haven't done this myself so, you could wait for one of the experts to confirm

          Ok, I managed to fix the issue using the USB burn tool.

          If anyone wants a guide on how I did it let me know. :-)

                            Is it not possible to modify the build.prop file to match the mibox 3 for instance and let Netflix think the device is compatible?
                            https://gist.github.com/ayufan/38f57...8aea85422f2957

                            Because if you look at the build.prop of Meecool M8S we can find this property:

                            #netflix
                            ro.nrdp.modelgroup=NEXUSPLAYERFUGU

                            Maybe if we can modify this one to XIAOMIM12TRIAL like on the Xiaomi box, it will be enough for netflix app?
