Openelec 5.95.3 Beta 2 ENY M8 2G (Square) With amcodec boblightd support

Openelec 6.0.0 - Eny M8 2G (Square)

Openelec 6.0.0 for Amlogic M8 (Square). Please note that the Openelec repository in this build is set to Wetek Play due to that is the only device that is arm and officially supported by Openelec, else I would have to remove their repository from the device.

This build has the stable CPU fix.
Finally have working bluetooth in this version.



Also coded and built in a firmware updater so you can simply update via your M8 (Square) with a few pressed of your remote.

Change first boot logo (Will upload 2 builds one with original boot logo and one with the new custom boot logo).

Installation:

1). Extract the content of the OpenELEC-Amlogic.arm-M8-6.0.0-iPTD.zip to the root of the SD card.
2). Flash your M8 with the SD card.
4). Do the setup process and then you're ready to go.

Boblightd Install:

1). Goto System > Add-ons > Install from repository > Openelec Mediacenter OS Add-ons > Services
2). Install boblightd
3). Install XBMC Boblight. Kodi Add-on repository > Services > XBMC Boblight
4). Enable Use remote boblightd in XBMC Boblight settings.
5). Setup your boblightd (lightpack tutorial here http://openelec.tv/forum/85-boblight...om-kickstarter )
6). Reboot and watch a video file and you should now see your lightpack/ambilight system working.

I have compiled codesnake's Openelec 5.0.8 and added support for boblightd using amcodec hardware acceleration. If you own a lightpack or some sort of ambilight system you know they don't work, this build fixes that.

It is codesnakes build for the M8 with a modification on the meson8_k200a_2G.dtd to enable Amvideocap. I built it all from the source code and running it on my M8 as I type this.

If someone can tell me which dtd file the M8N uses and provide me with the remote.conf and asound.conf I could try and build a version that supports the M8N. I would also need testers as I don't own a M8N and would not be able to test it out.

i flashed your previous version to give it a go on an m8, 5.0.6 iirc, opted for no boblight support, could only use 720P resolution, setting 4096p got me 1920x1080@24hz but with auto refresh rate change on playback i would get no signal. went back to codesnakes 5.0.3 and all was well again.

Looks like people are having the same issues with 4k only displaying at 1080p and codesnake already knows about it and said he is working on it 15 days ago and the latest patches in 5.0.8 were 7 days ago so give 5.0.8 a try and if it doesn't work give codesnake some more time to figure it out. https://github.com/codesnake/OpenELEC.tv/issues/55 . I only compile the source code and enable Amvideocap in the meson8_k200a_2G.dtd and don't change anything else.

What DTD file are you refering to ? And the asound file, if you provoid me with the path for these 2 files i'll pick em up for you

The asound.conf should be in the /etc directory and the dtd file is what the kernel uses e.g. the M8 uses meson8_k200a_2G.dtd

First off thank you for your work on this its nice to see more people contribute, I have a problem with 5.0.8 I installed this on my eny M8 and with AMCODEC enabled videos only play with the amlogic M8 boot logo. if I disable AMCODEC video will play but is laggy (clearly because its not HW accelerated) any ways if there anything I can provide you with (logs) let me know Ill post them...

I will try your older 5.0.5 and see if the problem is there also.

Edit 2: sorry about all this but I fixed the problem, I guess the box had an old android firmware on it, so I flashed a more resent firmware and now both builds work well... thanks again for your work.
