Hey folks, here is a simple ZIP update that will install support for the Xbox controller.
Woomg is working on PS3.

SPECIAL THANKS to FreakTab user woomg for providing the kernel KO modules for the S802 platform!

Now this will work ONLY on ANY of my ROM's that have init.d support added! It will NOT work on stock ROMs. However the Minix X8 has init.d in stock ROMs but it's different than my init.d (folder names are different)

This is a simple ZIP update and no instructions are provided. Simply download this and install it via recovery or the update APP supplied with every S802 box.

What this does:
It installs the KO modules:
xpad.ko
joydev.ko
gameport.ko
On some kernels is also installs
ffmemless
into /system/lib/
Then it installs a init.d script 09xpadjoy to /system/etc/init.d
This init.d script will automatically install the KO modules on every boot.

FYI, I will put these in all my new ROMs as part of boot so you will never need to patch again.
So for right now these are ONLY for any finless ROMs as of this date because it uses init.d

Later ROM's this will be built in.

I do not have either xbox controller so cannot test but he basically swears it works on both!

Other Korean user tested with wireless and he told me works fine. However, I am not sure what is his environment for test.

Just tried now with PS3 controller and on sixaxis compatibility i still get get segmentation fault?

Tested on xbox360 wired not original gamepad with dead trigger 2 and works great will do some testing with the ps3 also thanks woomg,Bob

Not working for me...

Doesn't seem to work for me.

Using square M8 box with Finless 1.6

Tried both wired and wireless PS3 controller and also wired Xbox 360 controller and they are not detected.

Tried both usb ports, same issue.

Sixaxis Controller app gets segfault. Sixaxis Enabler app says firmware lacks support.

Both 360 and PS3 controllers will not sync with box.

For Sixaxis Controller, unless there is a module called hid-sony, most probably won't work with that app.

Those drivers can be compiled in drivers/hid most probably (unless it was like that in MX devices). there should others like hid-gaff and hid-pl which are used by many ps2 and ps3 gamepads clones (pantherlord and greenasia gamepads).

I haven't tried PS3 controller yet, I use an Ipega 9017 via BT that works out of the box.

When I got the kernel config file from boot.img, that say almost hid driver was built-in. I will try to double check the configuration.

Are you using oman's source from gihub?
