    Two bricks in a row

I just set up my NAS box and have been trying to get a media client Kodi set up for a living room + bedroom setup. I tried the fire tv and fire tv stick but was annoyed with having to deal with the stock OS and loading Kodi as an app. I just want a pure Kodi experience as my wife needs to be able to figure this stuff out. So I bought a MX III (http://amzn.com/B00Y84N0FQ) and tried flashing openelec onto it but got a blank no signal screen on my tv. Ordered a M8 (http://amzn.com/B00XKIDE3Y) and same thing happened. I was getting my roms from http://amlinux.ru/image/. I now ordered a 3rd box that supposedly has openelec/kodi 15.2 preinstalled on it, the reason being I have 30 days to return my amazon fire tv stuff and get full refund so need something that works now out of box.

At this point I am able to connect my MX III and M8 boxes via a usb otg and male to male usb cables to my laptop and through the USB Burning Tool I am able to recognize both boxes. I hope this means they are only soft bricked and not hard bricked. The M8 doesn't light up blue at all while the MX III has solid blue. I tried finding stock firmware for both and tried the recovery sd card method but nothing happens after holding in reset for 1 minute plus. I'm having trouble finding rom images for the usb burning tool and the ones I have tried resulted in a 2% error. By posting this message, I am at my wits end trying to figure this out on my own. I've exhausted 4 pages of google results searching on my own. Do I need to flash nand pins 7+8 to get the sd card to be recognized? I was hoping to save this for last ditch effort.

Any advice would be very much appreciated at this point. Thanks in advanced for reading.

We all see alot if post like these. First need to find what device you have (manufacture not type) So many clones now each different in some ways. Then once your device or pcb seen we can point you to working rom. With out that it trial and error possible brick till you find right software for device.
Many devices now mk902ii/Shield/Mk68 /Ugoos/neox5/minix5 (yes they still work lol) mk80 no it doesnt work lol.

I'm sure you get tons of these, it's so easy to mess up. I took pics of the PCB for both M8 and MX3. I'm not sure what to be looking at. Is it a good sign that they are recognized by the USB burning tool? With all the different OTT options out there is there any best practice or recommendations to finding a box that would work with openelec?

I was hoping to get openelec with Kodi yes. I wasn't sure if I had to recover the boxes first to their original firmware to start recovery process over. I can't get them into recovery mode for SD card method.

The M8 box doesn't have the S+. The links for the two boxes that I just got from amazon are (http://amzn.com/B00Y84N0FQ) and (http://amzn.com/B00XKIDE3Y)

I've tried multiple images through the usb burning tool and getting a Romcode/Initialize DDR/Read initialize status/USB Control setup error.

The M8 you can see the PCB but the MX III you can't? Which one do you believe to be s812? Both amazon links say they were s802. So frustrating
