    UPDATED - NEW - TEST ROM and kinda cool!

    OK folks, this is just a TEST ROM for now. It does work on my S89-H fine. I think it should also work on the none-H but I did not test it.

    This is a port of the Minix X8 ROM to the S89. Since I did not get my X8 yet I wanted to see what the ROM looked like. It's just for fun and testing so you all can see what Minix is bringing to the table. I did not test everything so I do not know what works and does not. Wifi, BT, and Ethernet work on my S89-H.

    There is NO README with this so use this only if you already know how to flash one of my ROMs.

    Notes:
    - Airplay (AirPin Pro) removed due to copyright with Minix.
    - It's been pre-rooted
    - The Minix kernel will not boot on the S89-H so I had to use the latest 104K4 kernel from Beelink ROM.
    - Nothing else changed so you can see this ROM in action and what it comes with (except Airplay).

    UPDATE! I also got the X8 kernel to boot! So if you want to try that as well also download this ZIP and apply it!

    So for those that are testing and want to have both the X8 system and kernel download this ZIP and also apply it AFTER flashing the ROM. This is only flashing a new boot.img with kernel!

    I've been using your ROM:s for years, for phones, and now for Media player.
    I'm looking forward with curiosity for new versions.
    Keep up the good work.

    (have a Tronsmart S89 elite and Minix Neo X5 now, waiting for an Minix Neo X8-H)

        S89 standard seems to be stuck at boot ?

        There is a readme, it's just that it's meant for the Minix !! is that right ?

              Did a quick install using the micro sd card, but it failed. This is the same method I have been using to change roms. Did not get a chance to try another install method. Grand kids are here, so can't try it again until Monday. I am eager to try it, though.

                Not just me then!

                I think Bob accidentally upped the real Minix rom and not the one with the S89 kernel.

                Here is my blow by blow

                1) Opened up stock update/backup tool
                2) Chose the new rom and hit update
                3) It did the biz with green android man as usual
                4) Rebooted itself and pulled up the large Minix Logo with android man but stuck there with power light Red
                5) I attempted recovery, able to access but it reckoned my SD card full of roms was corrupt (which it isnt)
                6) Used factory flash tool to blow back 101K4

                Went from there to get back to finless 1.6

                interesting note, it seems that if you have an officially named factory ROM in the root of your SD card like s82_s89_103k4_stock_rom.zip, it will auto load it instead of recovery if you attempt to bring up recovery !

                might be useful to know if you brick your device.

                  I did the same as your 1and 2, but after reboot, all kinds of green messages and a big red message that it failed. Was in a hurry, so did not read the dozen messages.

                    Sorry guys I used the wrong link. I had also uploaded the Minix stock ROM is zip format and I accidentally used that link here.

                    I updated the link and now it will download the correct zip.

                    The file name is minix_port_s82_s89.zip

                            Netflix still has same quality problem. What does the MINIX kernel do? Gonna try it now.

                              This TEST ROM is not spoofing a Nexus 10.
