Hi. Can anyone help me with my android tv box?

The problem is i cant get a steady internet connection. I connect using ethernet but only lasts for 15 minutes. Wifi does not work. I also noticed i cant update my firmware. Reset using the toothpick method does nothing but stalls the system, updating through settings does nothing also.
Im thinking that the box has the wrong firmware since its a 2nd hand unit... What do you think?
