m8s+ openelec with kodi 16

I have openelec 6.0.1 with kodi 15.2 is there a way to get kodi 16? acemax answered a question on amazon that people been deleting 15.2 and installing 16 on the m8s + devices running openelec but when I asked him how , I never got a reply. any help would be appreciated

Download update from amlinux.ru/image
Goto 6.0.1 folder and download the m8splus update file, put on your box in update folder, in kodi goto program addons - openelec config - update, don't have box anymore for precise steps

update folder on the sd card? don't see a folder named that? I've updeted openelec to 6.0.1 via toothpick method but only have kodi 15.2 I want kodi 16

I went to openelec config and clicked update it does nothing... and thank you for the help
