OTT MXQ Pro 4K newbie here, questions, please ??

Hello Folks.
Not a total newbie to Android in general, but...
I have just gotten what appears to be a very nice little TV box and want to do some things with it.
It powers up and all the various menus and things look fine.

I installed CPUZ and it tells me the following info:
MXQ Pro p201, Amlogic, ARM Cortex-A53
FW: p201-userdebug 5.1.1 LMY47V 20160323 test-keys

Root verifier says it is not rooted, but that Busybox is installed.

To start with I am hoping that someone will instruct me as to how to verify whatever 'S' number that is associated with it;
Folks mention s812, s902, s905 - but I cannot find that anyplace - please explain this & how to find it ??

I really also want to root this and haven't been able to find any definite info on that subject;
Will some kind, helpful person please help me with this ??

At this point, an Amlogic ARM Cortex-A53 should be S905.

The only thing I'd like better for this box would be a way to ditch 5.1 and get it back to 4.x, which I vastly prefer - but it'll do as a toy, for now.

And...nope, nothing worked.
Tried any & everything I could find by searching - wasted loads of time - and finally just gave up & bought another that came rooted, thank goodness !!

The only thing lacking in the one we have now is bluetooth - it is this one:

If we needed another such box I would happily buy that same one again rather than the troublesome 1st one we had.
