Mini MX-G and AP6330

Hi guys,

I own a few android TVs and Chromecast and so (1x Sony ATV1 / 1x Chromecast 2 / 2x M8S II / 1x Mini MX-G)

So everything is fine on all devices... Sony and Chromecast are stock, M8S are running latest Nexus Player (TVStock) ROM

Buuuuutttttttttttt

I have lots of troubles getting Mini MX-G a proper ROM (for the record Mini MX-G is s905 android 5.1).

I tried thoses ones :

MiniM8S_rv105L03_TVStock-20170607 ->> Will boot but no network at all (wired and wifi) and no remote (didn't backup remote.conf)
MXQPro_rv105_TVStock-20170429 ->> Won't even turn on (black screen), need to usb unbrick
MiniMX3_107L1_TVStock-20170424 ->> Will boot, wired and remote OK but no Wifi
MiniMX-G_107L1 ->> Stock chinese ROM all OK but no Android TV and uggly (especially boot splash screen)

So I think the best one is MiniMX3_107L1_TVStock-20170424... I did some digging for Wifi problem (a lotttttttttt) and from what I saw, problem is the Wifi chip which is a AP6330 and seems not very common (and so poorly supported).

I didn't manage to find a proper flashable zip to patch wifi in recovery (I tried all of the onedrive but it always says the build.prop doesn't match) My Motherboard is P200_2G

So I extracted the folder "/etc/wifi/" from original ROM and tried to replace the files in MiniMX3 ROM with no success (operation went fine but wifi was not working ^^)

I searched again but folders and walkthrough seems to be different from ROM to ROM (some put files in lib/firmware some in etc/wifi som in /vendor/ folder)

Anyway did anyone here has any success on getting wifi to work with MiniMX-G and how did you do it ?

One collegue bring me his box this morning and it's also a G version so I can do some testings today ;-)

I tried it too everything is working but it's not android tv rom.

It's android rom with a custom launcher optimized for TV.

So apps you get from playstore are not designed to be used without touchscreen or on TV.

So I hoped to find the correct drivers or update zip for Android tv rom

Thanks for the info. I read it carefully and it seems a little bit complicated.

Ideal stuff would be the same tutorial explaining how to merge drivers into an already android TVied rom :-P

In my op I tell I tried this ROM.

It's perfect but wifi is not working...

That's the ROM I want to use to try to get working wifi as it is great

Yes I know but the link I provided has several wifi patches for that rom.

Tried all patchs but can't flash one... They all say that there is a problem with build.prop mismatch between p212 and p200_2g even il I take the version designed for p200_2g

You can ask about drivers neomode as on his own rom for beelink minimx someone confirm that his WiFi on AP6330 was working

Curious if you succeeded in enabling WiFi on ATV ROM - and what ROM you are currently running on your Mini MX-G, as I have the same box (looking to upgrade from stock).

Finally got wifi working with Magendanz ATV rom (MiniM8S_rv105L03_TVStock-20170607.img), thanks to Carontes for finding solution. I further improved on his patch and included bootloader patch that corrects the on/off led and embedded ir code to power on the Mini MX G.

Yes you can download netflix via aptoide, firmware works on Beelink MINI MXIII no modifications needed for that model.

Anthony96, tried Magendaz rom on my MiniMX, AP6330, had to use your patch, great rom ATV on my old box, but unlike the newer ATV roms, cannot multitask by double clicking the home button.
Then I read earlier discsussion from Tillaz and Magendanz suggestion the following;

<integer name="config_doubleTapOnHomeBehavior">1</integer>

2 = assistant / voice search
1 = Multi tasking

can swap to suite preference, the above is default]

I tried to get into the system framework-res.apk, but truly did not know what to do. Are you familiar with above, and were you able to multitask with this Rom?
