    AV socket

    Silly question:
What kind of connector fits in AV socket and what kind of devices?
    Audio, Video, both?
If Audio, is it in or out or both? Headphone or microphone. And is it the classical jackplug?
For example can one plug in a microphone?

Depending on the Brand of Media player and what size AV plug they decide to use at the time.

    Some use (most) a ~15mm 4 poled/ringed/barrel 3.5mm male to 3 RCA
    Some use a ~17mm 4 ringed 3.5mm male to 3 RCA

Left and Right audio channel and Video Out only (composite video)

Main Difference you can see in second image the first ring/barrel closest to the plastic is wider and is normally earth or Shield.

To add to the confusion of the Yellow (Video) Red and White audio they can be mixed, so try all options if you buy a cheap from ****
    Bit of a Guide here

Thanks! so no audio input there, right? I asked because Skype was included in ROM. So I guess one needs an USB webcam with both audio and video.

Yes that would be correct, it's all out nothing in unless marked differently.
Do a search on freaktab you should find compatible models around but must do the job.
        Cheers
