Hello, I'm trying to root an Alfawise A9 s905 box and have had no luck.
So far i've tried using TWRP from a thread i found on this site, Installed super SU through it and got a brick.
Reflashed firmware and tried installing Magisk but got a faliure.
Tried KingORoot but my device isn't recognised and i can't allow debugging when connected because there is no status bar.
Ideally someone should make an Android 6 firmware for this box because it runs much better and has status and nav bar by default
Any suggestions on acheiving root?
Thank you sir! Perfect post you?ve solved every problem I had with this box. Everything working perfectly. Only thing is the status bar doesn?t show the time without pulling it down but no biggy
Original Stock Firmware for Android TV Box Transpeed TR99 Mini (S905, 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM)
This firmware is most likely suitable for Alfawise A9 (not tested, but the firmware from Alfawise A9 works on the TR99 Mini)
File Name: S905M2_TR99_MINI_MP_20190414.img
Version: Android 8.1.0 Oreo (June 2018 security patch)

You can try the firmware of this topic, it seems to me that it is better than the stock Alfawise
