Still playing remote wifi working playstore little slow but updated now rebooting. Sticky.. Seem good. Just note may want to add stock keyboard for those with only remote. Opera yuk. Lol. Loading it up to see what works now.

Only displays youtube recommend. None of the playstore ones load just you tube. Remote voice kicks you back out of remote apk. I reset tried remote again same. Anything touched phone remote reboots remote apk to connection status.

Yeah I forgot to tell ... all main Google apps will be updated automatically after you add your google account. So during that time the system is a bit slower/choppier than usually.

Ha ha ha ... yeah Opera that ugly bitch. And this version has a forced sony start page that can't be changed. (urgh) I extrated it from my Sony TV. But for now, it is the only browser that isn't totally crap and can be used by just the direction keys of a remote (IR) control. For all the other ones, like Chrome, Firefox, etc ... you still need a mouse, touchpad etc to surf to the net. So I added that ugly bitch to the rom, to get the real leanback expirience. I still waiting for leanback version of google Chrome.

Keyboard ...

... I dind't removed the stock IME keyboard by mistake.

That was a decision made by experience. I'm using the google IME leanback keybord on my Sony 4K android TV now for many month. The IME leanback keybord is smaller and also much better/faster to use with a remote control. Compared to the normal IME stock keyboard.
BTW ... buy a mic and you will stop typing for many things. Just hit the search button and say thinks like: open app kodi, tell me the weather of tomorrow, play songs from XYZ, play movie XYZ, play trailer XYZ etc ...
For my china TV boxes I bougth one of these china micro USB mics at amazon, for a few bugs. Works pretty well for me. If you are not too far away from the box. So I'm going to stop using a keyboard for the many things.

And BTW ... I removed a lot of resource-gobbling apps & services from this custom ROM, compared to the original UGOOS or stock firmware. So with this version you will never send SMS, MMS or emails. You can't check your calender and no app you install, can ever read your contacts details, stored on your google account and so on. I removed all those things you will mostly never use on your TV. If someone wants to use his android BOX as a mini PC, this leanback android TV mod isn't the right choice. That's for sure ...

Hmmm voice works perfect for me. Is your mic recognized as an audio input device?

And for the recommendations ... try to reset (disable & reenable) this future once at:

Settings > Home Screen > Recommendations row
Settings > Apps > System Apps > Google Play Store > Notifications.

did that too still only Youtube. Phone apk for remote (Voice works on Sc rom and remote doesnt crash) doesnt work with it. (I dont have separate mic to test) but phone apk should work. Just crashes apk on cell.

All in nice rom needs some tweeks and adding a few base apk. Tv.apk/Sideload.apk/dark fix by Sc.apk/Ftmc.apk might be a few you should consider.

I checked the recommendations settings on my Sony TV and Google Play Store isn't disabled there (like I did for many other apps). But I could not remind myself to see ever any recom from the play store. So if there are any, they are pretty rare. On my Box I see right now recoms from ... Youtube, Google Play Musik, Google Play Games, Red Bull TV, ARTE, SPORT 1. So these are all apps the apps listed also at the recom settings screen. So I don't think there is any issue with the recoms of the play store.

Ahh, I dind't know any of those suggested apps. And why do you need an additional tool to side load apps if if the stunning beast called ES Explorer already installed?
You just have to enable root. Then enable ES Player Root Explorer function (normal button press) and then press again on Root Explorer (long press key) ...
.... et voilà ... you will see the hidden One key install, One key uninstall, Backup app and data, Uninstall system app, etc features.

I will keep my rom clean. But in case some suggest apps a really usefull for most of the users. I will add them for sure to a new version of the rom. But I prefer always apps that supports leanback, or at least those who support a remote control. I will never add a mouse or touch only app to this rom. Makes no sense.

Ohh Bluetooth ... My box has no bluetooth. So I disabeld all BT stuff from the ported Ugoos rom. But the BT Stack and the BT drivers of the original rom are still in my rom. And BT is also not activated in my kernel. But in case you can give me a link to a rom of your Box, with all the BT settings and drivers, I can try to create a BT fork of my rom. But the file must be an img file. Not a OTA zip file. But this will be a one shot thing, because I can't test the BT functionality at all.

BTW Im working already on a update of the rom. Lates google Apps and a few other small clitches I already found. And I will bring back the stock keybord & browser . Becasue both have also voice input functionalitys for non leanback apps. And finally I'm working on a fix for the Firefly function.
