Sorry if a silly question. Am considering one of these. Is there a guide for running libreelec via micro sd on it? A bit unsure of it as it's a dongle rather than a box.

As seen above a thin tin Heatsink this may be trouble, may need some creative cutting and a Heat sink to keep the cool
Startup was OK, WiFi and Google setup ok, BT detects fine.
Slow at Downloading and installing Apps at this stage..
Has Root access with SU, upper and lower bars
Seeing some temps in the the 80C doing just basic tasks a bit crazy
Settled after a few restarts etc



On with test etc..
UI, Installed Apps, added Reboot a must to have.

Is anyone making a custom ROM for this? I've seen ROMs for the S912 version.

I just replaced the thin heatsink with two mosfet heatsinks for the Raspberry Pi and dropped 15c, they fit inside the cover as well.

As mentioned before, an Android TV ROM for this version of the stick would be highly appreciated. I'm guessing someone who knows how to port ROMs can easily port a ROM from another S905X box.

Much appreciated, but how do I install that when I have TWRP? I've been trying for a while now but all I get is that the file is larger than the target device.

I can not go to the recovery menu, so I can not install a root, realized that the new fw are s905x16 and the one that came in our era s905x13, the same as the MXQ PRO +?

I currently just received this product as a bundle with a projector.

I am so disappointed with this unit.

Current issues:

-WIFI intermittent issues, sometimes load, sometimes hang, sometimes no internet connection at all. Tried Youtube, Chrome, Kodi etc.
-Tried to browse my local SMB network with ES explorer, doesn't load
-Tried 2.4ghz and 5ghz, same issue
-Tried static IP
-Tried shifting positions, put beside router etc.

What I am hoping for:

-Some miracle quick fix suggestion
-New custom firmware that will fix these issues and boost up the overall speed of the ROM
-Able to use LAN cable to on it

The thermals are good, idle 40+C, load is around 60+C

After browsing around in this forum, it's highly likely I have a defective unit as most users don't have such problems.

Also was thinking to try the USB to Ethernet adapter but the older version of this stick didn't have the drivers, what are the chances this H3 model is updated with it? Anyone able to test?
